This is not right. The only breeds I have been bitten by are dachshunds and boston terriers. Should we outlaw them as well?

Dogs should not be discriminated against based on their breeds. All dogs are capable of being loving and gentle. Family’s should not have to worry about losing their beloved family members due to BSL based on unfounded fears.

Please take into consideration that this animal is 9 years old and if was truly fierce or dangerous, an incident would surely have occurred by now. This family deserves the opportunity to fight this or at the very least be given more time to re-home.

This has been stopped many places, as unjust. Please remember, the breed has changed many times in the past, then changed. I remember it was German shepards at one time, then Dobermans. No one breed is to blame. This is wrong.

We are quick to get rid of "bully breeds" but it's okay to release a child molester back into a community?

No dog is born dangerous. Humans raise strong built dogs to be dangerous.
It isn’t the dogs fault it’s the humans so why punish the families of those dogs that have no aggressive history.

This is disgusting. As someone who has two "pit bulls" one who is 6 and one who is 8... this is disgusting! This breed is the furthest thing from aggressive. But because of their strength you hear about it a lot more on the media. Plus a lot of dogs are called pit bulls by ignorant people who have no idea what breed it is. Let this family keep their kid...because thats what he is. Another kid to them! Good luck Chico from Brooklyn and Bronx in Dartmouth Nova Scotia! - Kaytee

That is completely unfair to take away a loved pet when there is nothing wrong.

Not the dogs fault. If a dog is viscous I blame the owner. And for this dog to be with the family for 9 years it would be a tragedy to remove it now. Some dog won’t do well being placed in a new home after this long with a family. Any dog can be a problem dog it is how it was raised. My dogs are my family and if I got a letter like this about any of my dogs then they better be willing to use force to take him from me.

I have rescued two Amstaffs from Ontario and Montreal because of BSL. They are the most stable, loving dogs you'll ever meet. Responsibly bred dogs should not pay the price of a few (what was their breed DNA?), especially with no previous history of aggression. Senseless.

Any large breed can be dangerous, even small breeds in certain situations. Singling out one breed is beyond ignorant.
