So heartbreaking! I could not imagine anyone trying to take our two loving pits from us. This is unfair.

It's absurd to rip this animal, which they declare has done nothing wrong, from its home. BS!

This dog is 9 years old, and it is a shame to remove it from it's family.
BSL does not work. It was reported to show that since the ban in Ontario regarding the American Pit Bull Terrier and American Staffordshire Terrier had been implemented, dog bites involving the two breeds and dogs of their likeness had dropped considerably in the province's largest city Toronto, yet overall dog bites hit their highest levels this century.
The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published studies that concluded that that breed should not be the "primary factor driving public policy". The American Veterinary Medical Association determined that "breed is a poor sole predictor of dog bites. Controlled studies reveal no increased risk for the group blamed most often for dog bites, ‘pit bull-type’ dogs. Accordingly, targeting this breed or any other as a basis for dog-bite prevention is unfounded."

As long as the dog owner knows their dogs behaviour, the breed shouldn't matter. All dogs have the potential to be dangerous, just as much as all dogs have the potential to be loved. Don't divide thid family!!

This is a ridiculous law. We recently adopted an amstaff and he is about as vicious as our lab!

Absolutely ridiculous! Certain breeds of dogs are no worse than any other. This would be like classifying people based on race.

I work in guysborough county, but refuse to move there because of this ridiculous ban. I won’t abandon my dog, and so my money gets spent in Port Hawkesbury and Halifax

This bsl is a sad law. Someone with a dog for 9 years without incident should not have to rehome their family pet because it has a bloodline you don’t like.
There are other ways, leashing... muzzles in public (sad too, but better than “get rid of that dog!” )

This dog deserves to spend its last few years with its family. A dog only comes into our lives for a short period of time. But for a dog it’s whole life is it’s owners and it’s family.

Banning a breed shows a lack of understanding and is very unfair to the animal and the family.

Any dog, regardless of the breed, has the potential to be a biter. To put BSL in place is not fair to the owners of those dogs.

Responsible owners take extra precautions with “trouble” breeds. Those who don’t should be reprimanded, not everyone. It’s very disheartening to learn your county imposed a breed ban. I don’t agree with it and can’t support it.
