Instead of keeping dogs from getting homes offer free dog and owner training! To take a dog from it’s family is wrong ! When is someone took you from your home cause you were big!

Canine ethnic cleansing is absolutely wrong. Guysborough County has better things to do than wage war on law abiding dog owners.

With further research into fatalities caused by dogs in Canada, you will find that “pit bulls” are not ranked. Banning specific breed is much like human racism which is as we know is ridiculous to judge a person by the color of their skin or ethnicity! Dogs are more than animals, they are companions and family memebers. Why would you want to rip a family apart by banning their dog when said dog did nothing wrong. Basing it on “it could” many dogs and animals and more likely people “could” cause harm. This is a ridiculous old fashion prejudice bylaw and needs to be dissolved!

I did not know this was allowed in Nova Scotia. This is heartbreaking. There is no basis whatsoever for BSL. In the 70s Dobermans were the problem, in the 80s it was German Shepherds, the 90s was Rottweilers, now Pit Bulls. Uneducated people support BSL.

I’ll never live in or do anything to benefit guysborough county as long as this bylaw is in place. Disgusting. What dog violence is there in the entire province to envoke this bylaw?

Breed legislation only comes about when politicians and people are not educated. The breed is not the problem. How the animal is raised and genetics cause behavior issues in animals. The breed is not the issue. Any politician that supports breed legislation would never get my vote.

This bylaw is unscientific and based on paranoia. Upholding something like this and tearing a family apart is clearly action taken by ignorant people. Be smart and disolve this bylaw! Nova Scotians are animal lovers not ignorant twits!
