It is unfair to profile a dog based on its breeding. Any dog can attack, they are animals after all. BSL doesn't change that or make neighbourhoods any safer.

Every dog has the potential to attack. This bylaw is uneducated. If you ban one, you need to ban them all. I know a labrador that once shook a Pomeranian to death. Put them on your list too.

I strongly wish that you take a moment to reconsider this. I am veterinary assistant and with a love for that my strong love for animals comes along. I know, have been seen (first hand) that this dog breed is amazing, they have more to offer you then what you may see. PLEASE AGAIN, Do NOT allow this to happen!

That animal and its family need to be left alone..in peace. You have no right to impose your perceptions on a peaceful family and their home. If a by law is to be imposed by the community indicating future restrictions, so be it...but this family is already intact and a sincere apology to them would be appropriate. I would do whatever
I need to protect my family unit. I hope they have strong reinforcements to protect theirs.

Breeds are not the problem, owners can be the problem, but don't blame a specific breed.

This is no good! This will NOT lower bites at all. If you are going to do this to Am Staffs where will it stop? Will poodles, yorkies, labs, etc., etc be next? Look into the breeding of an animal & OUTLAW inbreeding this is a major cause of so many problems for animals. Also have ads etc. showing people how NOT to approach a dog. There are so many options. I my self was almost the victim of a blue tick hound that would have had my arm because he was terrified of kids WHY? Because kids were abusing him throwing rocks, and anything else they could throw at him & the parents laughed at it! To this day I will not blame the dog but I do blame the kids & the parents of the kids! I myself was only a kid! STOP fear mongering & find other ways around this! Genetics how they are treated how the owner treats them etc. etc. are all causes for biting & so many reasons. I must go now before & say something I should not as I am so sick & tired of this issue. I would have one myself but I know I am NOT the correct type of person for the breed.

My family and I travel all over the province on weekend trips and whenever we have a chance. It's a safe bet that we won't be spending a single dollar in Guysborough Co. at any point in the near future. That a municipality could continue to enforce such an obsolete bylaw, in the face of overwhelming evidence that BSL is both ineffective at preventing injuries from dog bites and that the breeds singled out are not inherently "Fierce or Dangerous" simply proves that the councillors are living in an era that I would prefer not to support with any tourism dollars at all. In addition, I will be quite happy to make a similar recommendation to several friends and acquaintances who ask for suggestions when touring our province.

As a mother of 3 children and a pitbull myself not only would i be upset being told i have to get rid of my dog my children would be heartbroken. A parent should never have to tell there kids the government doesnt like there dog and that is why it has to leave! Just wrong in every way.

It is ridiculous to think that a breed is automatically dangerous. Science does not support this. What bylaw was passed to impose harsh penalties on those who neglect animals and raise them to be vicious? Spend your time and money looking at science. Better yet work on last economic impacts to the area. Or safety by improve road conditions.

Show us proof of how you can say a dog is dangerous.
It's how you raise a dog not what breed it is. Do you ban Rotweillers, Dobermans and German Sheppards? They are used by Police and Military and trained to attack on command. Are these breeds a danger to society?
Fear mongering is what was used to pass this ban, and nothing more
BSL is BS... basically dog racism
