I fully support this family and all families to include bully breeds. These dogs are the least dangerous and most lovable pets. It's crazy to enforce such a bylaw. Guysborough County it's time to change!

I have spent several happy summers in Guysborough, a place I have loved (as I love all of Nova Scotia!). I am surprised and dismayed to learn that breed-specific legislation will be breaking up this particular family, separating them from their well-behaved 9-year old dog. That's wrong on so many levels, not least of which being that scientific research confirms that breed specific legislation does not reduce dog bites or keep people safer, but just results in the tragedy of good dogs being, ultimately, euthanized. I know that Nova Scotia is better than this! Please revoke the bylaw and allow the family to keep their dog.

NO BREED SPECIFIC BYLAWS. The owners are the problem....not the dogs.

This is a false statement of both breeds with no research to back it. I'm reality, "pitpull" breeds are one of the kindest breads of dog. I am an RVT and never have I been bit by a Pitpull or Rottweiler. Shame on whoever is responsible for supporting with bylaw that is removing a beloved family member from it's home based on fear and ignorance.

You want a specific breed moved to another home? Really if you truly think this breed and this dog is harmful, why would you move it anywhere? This is naive and uneducated and discriminating. A "breed" of dog is not the issue, but how the dog was raised and the situation which causes aggression. This law is narrow minded and archaic. Time to strike it out!!

Innocent until proven guilty! We can’t condemn an animal for the “potential” to be dangerous! Its 2018. Use your common sense! Leave Chico with his family. He’s a senior dog and this will irreparably harm him for NO good reason.

It is absurd to judge this dog solely based on its breed. "This dog has not attacked but has the potential to do so" ? EVERY single breed of dog has the potential to be aggressive when provoked, it can often just depend on how said dog is raised & trained. The breeds that have been PROVEN to be most aggressive are commonly smaller, "family dog" breeds.

this is so backward, being aggessive has nothing to do with breed, Montreal reversed their legilation, this is so backwards, and cruel

You cannot take a 9 year old dog who has not caused any harm away from it's family, you're punishing the family & dog for no reason!! What are you teaching us? That we get punished for doing NOTHING wrong???? This needs to change now. Leave that dog with its family.
