Any dog has “the potential to attack”

the situation needs to be dealt with on a individual case not the whole breed!

Taking a 9-year-old pet away from the only family he has ever known is cruel and should be considered a form of animal abuse. If this were happening to my family, I would be absolutely devastated. This is a senior dog with no history of aggressive behaviour, so there is no reason to have him removed from the county. Don’t blame the breed for aggressive behaviour, blame the owner for teaching it the behaviour.

This is disgusting. If the dog has done nothing wrong in 9 years leave it with its family. I Have a pitt ànd he is the biggest baby ever. I hate the stigma of these dogs. They are gentle and sweet

Very unreasonable and unfair. Deal with the ones who attack not the ones raised to be a loving family dog.

Ban the breeder! Then these terrible situations will cease to exist where a family's and the family's dog's hearts are broken.

Breed discrimination is so wrong! It’s would be like saying that all children born into poor communities are on automatic probation, because “even though they haven’t broken the law yet, they are statistically more likely to do so, and thus pose a threat.” We allow convicted rapists and pedophiles more freedoms and allowances than these poor dogs that have done noth8ng more than be born and love their families.

Absolutely ridiculous! If anyone has half a brain they know it's not the breed!

Leqve this beautiful family dog alone. He is living a peaceful life with people who live him and he dont need to be labelled something he's not. I know people that are worse than this dog that needs the harrassment, buy I guess its easier to harrass a defensless dog and the family who own him.

Good luck! Hope to be one step closer to ending BSL anywhere in Nova Scotia.

This bylaw is wrongheaded. It has been proven that banning breeds using DNA does not work.

Any dog can eventually be aggressive, if they are hurt, in pain, scared or provoked.Stop singling out dogs and concentrate more on the bad, cruel people!!!!!!

Dogs only act how they’re raised.. I’ve seen a little chihuahua viciously attack someone for no reason.. it’s not the breed it’s the owner!!!

The family should absolutely be able to keep this beautiful dog. I would like to ask the municipality if it was one of their “kids” how would they feel? It’s not the breed, it’s owners that create animals who attack!

This is the result of uneducated people! I had a rottie who was a gem her whole life, a rottie pit mix who’s an absolutely beautiful amazing dog and a rottie mix who will lick you to death. It’s all how you raise a dog folks. I own a boarding kennel I’ve been bit! By border collies, beagles, labs, Bernese mountain dogs and other “family dogs” literally NEVER bit by a pitty or rottie and I have a large group of daycare dogs that have one or both breeds in them. Punish the deed(owner) not the breed!!! I’d attach pictures if I could.
