This is so wrong. Little dogs are always trying to nip people, yet my Rottie never hurt a soul. Raised right these breeds are the most loving pets you could ever have.

It seems only fair and reasonable to ask that the BSL law be revisited and abolished. Simply put, it is an out dated law based on media hype and ignorance. It is discrimination in its truest form, based simply on the breed and appearance of the dog. To put all dogs of a general breed under one umbrella and ban them from a certain county, town and/municipality seems like an extremely uninformed bylaw to pass. Thankfully we don't have laws like this directed at people of different cultures and colours and races, because wouldn't that be ridiculous!

This is immensely unfair to the family and their 9 year old dog. Giving a short time span is inhuman.... I agree there is much better ways to deal with dog agression and the public. Not all dogs and their families should should be put in this situation because of their breed :(

Statistically pit bulls and rottis are not the most dangerous dogs. They are, however “POC” breeds.... When Guysborough starts banning labs and German Shepard’s I will stop thinking this is blatantly racist.

This means I won't be spending any of my tourism dollars in Guys Co., because my dog is banned from your County. Too bad.

Let these people keep their dog. Don't be stupid. You really need to take a good look at your ridiculous by-law and reevaluate it. They have had him for 9 years. Get over yourselves.

I have no words to truly emphasize how outrageous this is.

It's training and upbringing that affects dog attitudes. This is the same as assuming pitbulls are dangerous, even though there's overwhelming evidence to prove otherwise! These laws have no scientific background, and are written in superstition only!

Any dog has potential to attack. Why not ban all breeds? Ridiculous.

This is a ridiculous knee jerk by-law and common sense needs to prevail.

Proactive measures are great, and yes, better than reactive, but there is a grave line that has been crossed here - prejudice. End BSL in Guysborough County!

Breed specific laws are discrimination in the worst way! It's not the breed that is the issue as many breeds, including small ones, can and do, bite! The label 'fierce and dangerous' is an outright fallacy!!
