It's all in how the dogs is trained. Same as not all one race of people are good or bad. Don't discriminate again the breed.

It is not the breed. It is the owner. It's how the dog is raised. It is not the breed. These laws are just canine racism.

Really you are doing DNA testing to determine if a dog has the right to live in your neighbourhood - is that a joke? And you think the dog is not good enough for you but you don't have a problem sending it somewhere else!

This breed is very misunderstood. All animals are capable of violence. The breed does not mean they are mean. Pitbulls are great dogs

I beg you to please dissolve this bylaw. Dogs should not be judged by their breed. This is just so unfair.

Absolutely insane, dogs behaviour solely depends on the owner. You can't ban one large breed and not all.

It’s not the breed, it’s “owners” that treat these dogs badly and turn them into killing machines. Shouldn’t have to give a dog up because of by laws that should never be there I’m the first place

Any and all bylaws against having certain "breeds" of animals should be abolished. To tell someone that they need to get rid of their family member because of this is barbaric and whoever came up with these laws needs to take a real hard look in the mirror and stop living in a bubble. It has nothing to do with what breed of dog it is in regards to attacks. I was bitten by a yorkie when i was younger and know many others who have. Again it's nothing to do with breed, its irresponsible owners who cause these knee jerk reactions.

As a dog owner my last dog from a pup to senior age lived 12.6 months. Rottie mix. Not one incident. This is extreme to rip a family member away from a family. Lets put Nova Scotia on the map as I write this it is going viral on social media. I hope this hits main media. A week to get rid of your dog because of a DNA test?

More education needed by law makers.

BSL targets innocent dogs as is the case here. Every dog has the potential to be aggressive or bite, Chihuahua's being at the very top of that list. Forcing this family to rehome a senior dog is just horrendous. I'm certain an exception can be made under the circumstances, even if the exception were to carry restrictions such as this dog needing to wear a muzzle while out in public of outside of the home. Surely in the twilight years of this dogs life there is a humane way to accommodate this poor old dog without having to rip him from the family that loves him.

It's all in the way the owner trains the dog

This is a dumb law, and it has saved literally no body.

Please reconsidered this bylaw, any dog can behave badly if not worked with, bully breeds are some of the kindest, depends on their owners.
