I grew up in Carlsbad when my family moved near Poinsettia Park in 1997. I was five. I still live in that same neighborhood. Back then, United operated 30-seat turboprops to LAX, and I remember them as far quieter than the planes we hear today. I fly frequently for work and prefer flying out of SAN. These larger commercial jets benefit a relatively small number of travelers while imposing noise and disruption on the surrounding community. The costs outweigh the benefits. No big jets!

The City Council says they have no control over the airport and that the power lies with the FAA and the County. That's just lack of courage. This election, there are 3 incumbent seats that up for grabs. Please vote for candidates that will block any expansion of the airport. I am running in District 3. I been in Carlsbad since 2006 and the traffic in/out of Palomar has gotten out of hand in the last couple of years. The new commercial flights coupled with the increase in flight training schools based out of the airport has created an environment that is no longer tolerable for residents. There needs to be noise abatement limits established that will work for both residents and the airport. Palomar is important to Carlsbad but it needs to do better to reduce the impact on its residents.

The sound is unbearable in our neighborhood in the morning, night mid day, also the threat of one crashing over our neighborhood but the decibel of sound is hard on our ears. Not our small Carlsbad lifestyle! Hurt price values people want to sell homes! Please rethink this idea! We are not downtown! Remember crash in San Diego, very sad!

We purchased in Salamar a bit ago. Truth be told had I of known how bad the plane noise was going to be I would not have purchased. We have flights all hours of the day. We need to reduce the number of commercial flights or at least have them enforce the correct flight path and altitude rules. It is time for us citizens to come together and make the changes to protect our health and property values.

39 year United Line check airman, retired with 3 years as a FAA Primary Operations Inspector, grew up here, started my career flying out of Palomar Airport in 75, I know the traffic patterns here, the FARs, what ATC requires, flown thousands of noise abatement procedures. And this county mandate over the city of Carlsbad is wrong. It is the cart before the horse! The noise is un bearable from these commercial aircraft flying out of General Aviation McClellan (Palomar)

Scheduled airlines need to stay where they belong in San Diego or Newport Beach. We are a small beach community. We don't need the additional, much louder noise, more pollution, more traffic and the risk of a major deadly accident with our short runway or housing and businesses along the flight paths.

Living in Vista for 20 years it’s become evident that the flights are increasingly more frequent and louder. I do not want to live in a flight path and do not choose to allow larger jets and more traffic.

North county has become very noisy, even if f you're not near the airport. They fly over the r mirtiam mountains and the sound is reflected back an d forth, so that we too wake up at night. Don't want to imagine what people closer to the r airport are going through... STOP all flights 10pm-7am!
