Stealing business from a local taxpayer who employs other taxpayers. There are 100s of other things you can do with our tax payer money that doesn't shut out local businesses. Pay our teachers more? Repair roads (14th street from Norris to Main St is just rediculous)? Upgrade computers from 15 years ago at the library so people can look for jobs? Heck, hire a few more workers to maintain our parks and recreation areas. With that kind of money you can employ 2 or 3 for 15 years with benefits.

There is no "need" for a CoC operated range.

The state needs to spend the money on quality educators, not another shooting range. Clovis has an outdoor and indoor range. We really do not need anymore . How about infrastructure ? Better roads anyone?

This is the wrongful use of our tax dollars, going to pay for another facility that cannot be maintained by our government, in addition to compromising an established independent business operator. This money would be better allocated to improving City parks or State parks in desperate need or upgrades and maintenance. For the government to compete with local business is wrong and is in direct conflict with what our Founding Fathers intent for the role of the governing body of the country. I hope this statement helps open the eyes of those in charge of this initiative.

I've been a member of Patriot Outdoors and it is a quality range with a great owner/operator who is trying to accommodate the U.S. Military and will go to great lengths to provide what will cost the tax payers millions that Mr. Powell had already invested.

Clovis Nm has two. We don't need one that's going to open up and then it's closed the next year. Clovis Nm needs something that everyone can enjoy!!!!!!

I prefer training from a privately owned company as opposed to uncle Sam having knowledge of my personally owned weapons or level of knowledge.

The government should do things to encourage small business, not compete. The grant may pay for the initial facility but the funds aren't there to sustain this.

Thank you for the Security and Service that you all provide at Patriot Outdoors. It is a great comfort for me and my family to have such a great facility here in our home town supporting our military and law enforcement. Semper Fi !!

It is a shame when you have a facility to serve a community and the government goes in against you!!

Commissioners should reach out to the public and ask what they would like. I for one believe an indoor softball/baseball batting range would be better and used more by our citizens ranging in ages from 8years of age to 55!!! New gun range is ridiculous!!!!!
