doubling the size of our city overnight is insane . Our planned city is what it was meant to be at least prior to Stratford Green! Mr. Willis is probably spinning!If people want a larger city they need to move to one
I am for a delay...that being said...if we ask for extended time-will other municipalities be delayed?

initially, annexation sounded like a good idea, but after due consideration, I have doubts and would like to hear more witout rushing in to make a decision that would be irreversible.

I support slowing down and making sure it is a good idea . Adding more people and businesses than we can carry with our infrastructure would be a bad idea

One of the reasons being bandied about to justify annexing more residential and commercial property into Avondale is, Dekalb County government is dysfunctional and corrupt. So by enlarging the existing cities, creating new ones and eliminating all unincorporated properties we can put an end to that corruption and dysfunction. GIVE ME A BREAK! If you believe that, I invite you over to my house to observe the flying pigs. We could annex the state of Indiana and it would NOT straighten out Dekalb County.

AE is not in the same postion as those areas trying to incorporate and we should not be rushed into annexing area's - particularly residential without a full and complete study of the impact on our existing community. It should not be ignored that the residents and business owners in affected area's have not sought to be annexed through appropriate method such as the process Stratford Green followed. Considering the pros and cons - AE would be well advised to withdraw the Bill and avoid the risk of forever changing our Community with no recourse once the Legislature acts. I emphasize with the BMOC and believe they are acting in good-faith but feeling pressure created by the disfunction of Dekalb County and State legislative concerns- we have made a rash decision that is not in the best interest of our City.
