Why does it have to be an apartment building in the middle of a neighborhood of houses??

I Love AH!! The best part about it is the small neighborhoods and families. Keep this monstrosity out of Atlantic Highlands!

Lou is the one that has pushed for this plan since 2006 -- he's all for it. He has a personal biased which I am happy to explain to anyone who calls me and he wants this to go through. He also works for a developer who is building in town at several locations including next to Atlantic Highland Elementary that has COAH quota requirements that need to be met somewhere in town. A developer can put their COAH quota some where else (doesn't have to be in the same building - they just have to meet the quota) and thus we have this push to put it here while they build luxury apartments all over town that don't want to include COAH. It's easier to charge premium rents on a buildings that have no COAH and then build a separate building (in a single family neighborhood) dedicated to COAH quota. This is how the game gets played.

the street is narrow to begin with and more building would impact the neighborhood in a negative way

A change like this requires extended public input. The current plan should be suspended until significant public discussion has taken place.

Do not build, find a different area more suitable for this type of development so the impact upon taxpayers is more acceptable....do the right thing rather than the money thing.

Let's be clear - I am not against COAH housing, but I am against concentrating it in one site/area. It is better for a community as a whole when COAH housing is spread over the community.

We have lived here for the past 21 years. Our street is already to narrow and filled with parked cars only allowed on one side of the street. It has always been a difficult street for young children to ride bikes and play. How will there ever be enough room increased traffic? How could anyone not see that this residential street is no place for an apartment complex?

Supposedly we have met the coah quota that we need , but they have included that lot in the quota however they have new condos being built on 1st Avenue and there's some down on Hennessy which three of them are already. But this lot is way too small for that in a single-family neighborhood and if they have a Condo building going up that has three floors in it use some if that. Or. Mother Theresa just went up for sale why can't they turn that into an apartment building???? Attend your meetings there is so much going on in this town next meeting is March 28th thank you for support and please sign.
