First of all, this flag is NOT a symbol for racism. The Confederate flag is a symbol for southern pride. The Civil War was when the South was tired of being pushed around by the North, and they wanted to do something about it. Being taxed unfairly, being told what rules we had to abide by, telling is what we needed to produce, they were tired of it, and fought back. It is a symbol for our integrity when fighting against a more powerful force. And if we were to say that the flag should be banned because it offends people, the gay pride flag should be banned too because it offends people of certain religions. And saying that the hemp flag being taken down is enough reason is very wrong. A flag supporting southern pride has much more reason to stay up than a banner supporting an illegal drug. Thank you.

Fully support this petition. This is a direct result of fascism in America (Trump). This would not be an issue if only women owned guns. You should not have to pay taxes if you dont want to. Communism will rise again. #feminism #ANTIFA

Flying the confederate flag shows how Americans can use their first amendment and how all these snowflake liberals get offended over the stupidest stuff. Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right. The flag should be flown because we live in a free country. The hemp poster was about drugs which are bad for you but the confederate flag is a heritage that shows independence and the right to their own opinion. God bless the USA

I was a student of color at that school and despite the claims of "pride" behind the flags we all know that the history behind them is racist and this is intentional in the large majority of cases.

I was a student at Chiles from 99-03. This was an issue then. It saddens me that this is still happening. Take the flag down.

Honestly this flag is a symbol of hate and intolerance and has been for a long time (this shouldnt be forgotten, and especially not FLOWN on the back of trucks as some sort of trophy), it might mean something different to some of the peopl who fly it, but you would hope they would have some sort of common decency to acknowledge what this flag has stood for and to stop using the excuse that students have coexist stickers or gay prode stickers. Yes its free speech but equal rights stickers mean something alot different than a flag that literally means seceding from America and promoting slavery and racism. You can have southern pride for your state flag or make a southern pride sticker. Yes you may not agree with "our stickers" but they dont promote voilence, racism or hate. Something schools like chiles are activly trying to prevent, so why would they alow a flag that stands for it in the eyes of so many of their students on campus? Obviously chiles can ban anything they want because they have no problem dresscoding girls shoulders and thighs, how about they ban something thats actually distracting/offensive this time. #historyhasitseyesonyou

I went to chiles and they checked cars every single day but they won't stop that...if you can't wear the shirt than you shouldn't be able to fly it on school campus!

While I support free speech and people's right to fly the confederate flag, it shouldn't be allowed on school campuses. And if the school does allow it, allow the damn hemp banners. That's about as far as you can get from offensive.
