My bills is raising month by month. These bills are getting outrageous until the point I won’t be able to afford. I have others bills outside of WG&L. I need answers !!

Every year it climbs higher. If you can't pay on time, they charge huge late fees. They talk about "peak season", but seems to be all year long. I was paying $300 a month for electricity at my house for months after the hurricane, with NO POWER, and NOT even living there. I was also paying for an apartment, which was overcharged for a previous tenants bill, cut off a week before 1st due date, in the freezing winter, only to have to cover my vacant house's bill AND the last tenants bill, AND the current apartment bill. 3 BILLS at one time to get my power turned back on when it was not even late!! They are full of garbage. I can not wait to move away. Taxes go up, Property values decline, no jobs, gang murders, my home has been robbed 4 times since the hurricane in a "good" neighbirhood, the city is sticking it where ever they can. It's unfair. I hate it here.

Sometimes I do the same thing monthly and my bill will range between 400 to 700 dollars!

It’s true, the light bills fluctuate so heavily, and inconsistent. I’m gone the whole day usually, 6 days a week for work, so when I get a light bill of 140-150, I was understanding. As of lately, my routine has not changed, but my light bill is almost 300 dollars and I live alone, I don’t keep things plugged in. Ultimately I’m gone morning to late night so I wholeheartedly agree with this petition. Lower these ridiculous rates and explain why the bills don’t make sense !
