The airport is on top of the Edwards Aquifer Zone in the middle of the city therefore expanding the facilities without NEPA requirements and approval is irresponsible and illegal. Federal grants should not be available for this abuse. I have been living in Serenada for 18 years and the noise level has increased during the last few years to an unacceptable level .

Please make plans to attend and participate with a verbal statement at the Fuel Farm DEA Public Hearing set for next Friday, October 9, 2015, 10:00 AM, City Council Chambers, 101 East 7th Street. Encourage all your friends and contacts who, along with us, oppose any increase in aviation operations beyond what exists now. This hearing is open to all city and county residents – the issue is federal funding!
For years we have heard from folks around us that the city never listens to us. We can speak, but are not heard. This hearing will be the first time in the history of federal funding for the airport (GTU) that citizen voices will be heard for an official federal record. We have the opportunity to make a real difference in how things are done at the GTU. We must not let this chance pass us by due to our own indifference. Be there! Make your statement! Bring others with you! Demand an EIS for the pending $10 Million GTU 2015 CIP as shown on page 360 of the DEA and described as the proposed federal grant, 1514GRGTN on page A-1 and all federal grants for the past decade!
Keep in mind that although we are small in numbers and our local press has never provided any NEPA information to our citizens nor any detailed information on GTU federal grants, we have made a substantial impact. The pending Big Kahuna of all GTU grants, the $10 Million GTU 2015 CIP, has been kept on hold and off the agenda of the Texas Transportation Commission (TTC) for almost a year due to our NEPA issues. Without a TTC Minute Order no GTU federal grant can proceed.
We have also kept the new $500,000 (2025-2045) GTU Master Plan and the current $3.5 Million request to double the weight of aircraft served by RW 18/36 bottled up. That’s about $14 Million on hold all because of us. As long as these and future grant requests are kept pending in the TTC bull pin the city will begin to take our concerns seriously. I do not see a need for this expansion. Within close proximity are both the Austin-Bergstrom and Austin Executive airport. I am strongly opposed to this "upgrade."

Avis, this is a new petition opposing the recent request from the city for federal funds to support larger aircraft. There will also be a public hearing on Oct. 9th at the GT Utility Center for the community to share their concerns regarding the airport expansion. I suggest everyone attend!! Be watching for reminders to attend. Unfortunately the city set the time at 10am when most are at work. :( But I suggest people still attend to get our voices heard. I hope it's an open forum for people to ask questions or address their concerns "and" have a city official actually respond. One way communications have not been working. :(

The Georgetown airport is close to people's homes and is already too noisy. Larger planes and more airplane traffIc would only make this situation worse. The airport should be relocated further away from people's homes.

The City of Georgetown has entered into a "Airport Development" agreement with TXDot Aviation. The purpose is to use Federal money for large development projects that are being described as 'safety' projects. All projects described as safety will receive 90% Federal funding. The long terms goal is to, over time, expand GTU airport business operations, expand the size and number of aircraft that can land and take off, build more hangers, add on site businesses, expand current fule capacities by 60% to service more aircraft, expand airport property boundaries and eventually lengthen the runways via property condemnation. All this without the public approval.

Keep it as it is. If it needs to be bigger, move it. We have only lived here 2 years but have noticed bigger, louder planes. Just the other day in our yard, we had to pause and stop talking for several minutes because we could not hear over a loud plane.

When we we first moved to this location the air traffic noise was primarily small twin prop planes and helicopters. The noise was not too bad. The last few years larger planes have become more regular and the noise is becoming unbearable. Unless the airport wants to buy my property at a great rate they need to ban these Berliners coming in. My house rattles when these twin engine jets are being used.

The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 provides for public participation for use of federal taxpayer funds for local projects and programs. The citizens both within and outside our city limits who are adversely impacted by the airport have been systematically denied NEPA participation for over 25 years of federal grants for the airport. This violation of NEPA must stop. Our citizens can stop it!

My lifetime investments along with all my neighbors investments are being ignored, by this request. There are alternatives and this truly limits the cities growth to the north of town. This airport needs to be relocated for our safety, and our grandchildren's safety. It cannot be ignored for the almighty dollar!
