This has to be about the worst place to have a marina on the whole lake, let alone an expanded one!

I'm totally ok with a brewery going in as we need more places to hang out in spring park/ mound area. What I'm NOT ok with is More docks!!! Seton channel is too narrow already and it's a wildlife habitat that's very important to maintain for lake health and wellbeing.

It is ridiculous to even consider, citing all reasons listed! Please do not let this happen!

This would risk more safety issues that are already an issue with the sheriff

Boating through that area is already too congested. Why add more congestion?

Please don't associate the expansion of this marina with the brewery that is coming into Spring Park. The owner of this building had these plans in place we'll before we approached him about opening Back Channel Brewing. In addition, if there were any slips that would be dedicated to our brewery for transient boaters, there would be a minimal amount. Our taproom is meant to be a gathering place for locals, families, pets, and beer connoisseurs. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments or concerns.

On an already narrow channel this would negatively impact nearby homes and increase traffic.

I live in the emerald Lake portion on Seton channel. This channel is already congested without 28 more slips.

The picture is misleading also. The nieghbor next to the bridge put out 2 covered slips (which I am guessing is his right?) just makes the area more congested with 28 more.

This would be an eye sore, and create too much shore erosion in an already narrow channel!! No thank you!!!

This channel is already too congested, adding a Marina in this particular spot will only cause more issues.

To whom it concerns about this proposed marina. My wife and I have been avid boaters on Lake Minnetonka for almost 30 years so we are very familiar with the Seaton Channel. I would first like to say I am a fan of docks and having safe boaters on the lake It is a wonderful natural resource. I am also an entrepreneur so I like to see progress and creative business developments.
I must admit I do not have all the information on this proposed Dock expansion in Seaton Channel. I can see a visual of the proposed dock but I do not have details on whether these are all going to be rental docks or if some will be public for dining and retail.
I would like to caution you that immediately to the north and west of the proposed marina location in the Seaton, a boat must pass under two separate bridges. The Dakota Trail (rail bridge) has a trestle that prevents two boats from passing through together. On weekends boats often get queued up on both sides of the bridge waiting to pass. If you have any planned retail docks at this new location you will add the congestion that is often seen outside of Lord Fletchers or Maynards to the traffic backing up to pass under the bridges. The difference here is there is significantly less room for boat maneuverability.
Furthermore, while you may be adding only 20 or so additional boats to the current dock you will be adding additional noise that will tend to linger longer than a boat with music playing that just passes through. This is likely going to be a source of discomfort for the residents who live across from the proposed marina.
I urge you to exercise extreme caution as you consider this proposed change. While expanded access to this lake is attractive, this should not be done in a location where safety is compromised and current residents are negatively impacted. Thank you for your consideration

Preserve the natural shoreline and appreciate what little nature we have left. The channel is indeed congested; further construction will only make it more so. Keep businesses in the downtown areas.
