Please put a stop to this so we send a message to other airports and hangars that we, the people, will not tolerate destruction of our environment so a few rich folks can run amuck!

The proposal to triple the private jet capacity is SO extra. Is there truly a need? Massport and the very wealthy are completely reneging on their responsibility to the greater good as is our government to support this kind of preferential treatment. Stand up for our Climate goals.

It's incredible disappointing that Massport wants to do this which only encourages an increase in greenhouse gas emissions. This is definitely going the wrong way. I think we adults need to protest this to the highest degree possible. If this project goes through, what are we telling the children of today and tomorrow - that we don't care about them because we don't care about the environment. We should be ashamed.

If the purpose is to drive more revenue, may I suggest an alternative proposal - Increase taxes on private planes. Private flyers pay just 2% of the taxes that primarily fund the Federal Aviation Administration, yet nearly 17% of flights handled by the FAA are private.

Sacrifice communities are tired of our elected officials putting airlines profits above the health and welfare of the airport communities. An increase in private jet capacity is in complete opposition of any environmental\climate initiatives. Once again airport officials trot out the "BUT JOBS" argument when what really matters to them is more PROFIT. Massport doesn't respond to, represent, or care one bit about airport communities. Don't cave to the 1% - stop the expansion of private jets at Hanscom and every airport. Enough is enough!

Against this expansion because of the additional disturbance to the local communities and the injustice to the larger community by propagating climate change.

Isn't this the anniversary of a private jet crash there at Hanscom? I remember the smell of burning jet fuel and fried foliage and out of state billionaire....

Gov. Healey, I am appealing to you to apply your leadership and authority to renounce expansion of private jet capacity at Hanscom – or at any airport – and thereby send a message to Massport, and every other airport owner, that such expansions are incompatible with the drastic and unprecedented steps we are now called upon to take to reduce CO2 emissions and noise pollution in already stressed neighborhoods. Local residents are continually bombarded by plane noise daily for hours with no regard of need for sleep or quiet.

It is imperative that we stop destroying what is essential to life, our land, forests, water and air for non-essential human activity. There is no bargaining our way out of our climate crisis with misleading carbon exchanges and credits. Pollution and toxic chemicals do not adhere to these mathematical deceptions.

The peace of the citizens of eastern Massachusetts are already terribly disrupted by airplane noise, benefiting no one but the corporate stockholders who get rich and sleep well. Do not add any more planes to the mix.

I'm particularly disturbed by the comment from Sharon Williams, Massport's director of Hanscom, ... Williams said Massport has a legal obligation to generate revenue to be “as self-sustaining as possible" and “an economic engine" for the state, adding the airport has an annual economic impact of more than $679 million and supports more than 2,200 jobs. (Boston Globe 21 May 2023).

As a born-and-bred Massachusetts person, I don't much like the idea of Making Hanscom Field a private jetport. Donald Trump might like the idea; I hope you don't.
