Stop Private Jet Expansion at Hanscom or Anywhere

Bedford resident raising a family who would not like additional emissions and noise from jets in our town

A half million sq ft hangar space, and a new runway for bigger, heavier planes to benefit people who can afford $7500/hour at the expense of our climate health is obscene. Stop this, Governor Healey. I voted for you to prevent this sort of issue.

Protect our heritage and environment

Do not let this private jet expansion move forward at Hanscom. It's an environmental and community nightmare

An area known for its important history and as a tranquil reserve for people who visit from near and far is not the place for a noisy airfield.

The negative environmental impacts of Hanscom reach far beyond the surrounding towns. The noise and fuel emissions made by private jets, East Coast Aero Club and MassPort are already staggering. Please stop this expansion project and please listen to homeowners’ concerns regarding Hanscom’s current state.

We do not want more private jets and all the emission that comes along with that

This is crazy, antidemocratic, and tramples on the rights of normal people living in Lincoln and surrounding communities.

Please stop this expansion. Rich people who feel the need to fly privately are ruining our planet. Let them join the human race and live as if the Earth matters.

This expansion at Hanscom for private jets is a climate disaster for our state an expands the already significant noise pollution experienced by neighboring towns. It must not be allowed to go ahead as currently planned.

Residents in Metrowest don’t need more CO2 and noise pollution to serve the interests of a very entitled few who should be taking commercial flights to lower their personal emissions. Take the ferry to Nantucket!

At a time when our young peoples’ futures are directly threatened by global climate disturbance, committing to further oil and gas development and infrastructure—including the expansion of private air travel—is nothing less than a death sentence. Given that “[j]ust 1% of the world's population was responsible for almost a quarter of greenhouse gas emissions over 1990-2019” (CarbonBrief.com), facilitating the emissions of the wealthy will undo the state’s progress toward its climate goals.

This is simply suicidal behavior on Hanscom's part and I don't want to be dragged down by someone else's death drive--or see my godchildren and niece and nephew and my students in Waltham dragged down!

Swift climate action requires us to reduce air travel, not expand it. This is especially true for the most polluting form, private jets. They are the epitomy of climate injustice. Noone serious about climate protection can support this project.

Please stop the North Airfield private jet hangar expansion. Already many days the air around our Lincoln house and MMNP are saturated with jet-fuel fumes making outdoor activity unpleasant--is this how we want to live??

Dear Governor Healey, please stop Massport's expansion so that there will be less greenhouse gas emision and fewer cases of respiratory illness. Traveling in luxury jets is not a necessity especially when their emissions can cause great harm to people's health.

Please stop this unnecessary privilege of the ultra wealthy at our expense of quality of living, destruction of our environment, increasing emission and added heat with every landing and takeoff, while serving no local neighborhood economic benefit, and nullifying our state's environmental goals.
