The city officially backed away from the tall towers and we won. It has been a long and draining fight but our neighborhood will stay the way we wanted. I am going to rest now but keep your eyes on the site to ensure they hold to this promise.

Final supporters
We, the undersigned, residents of South San Francisco, oppose any development on the former PUC site in the Chestnut/El Camino corridor extending to Old Mission Road that exceeds three stories in height.
The three alternate plans submitted by the two finalists do not fit the area. This is a high-density area which is experiencing high traffic congestion, a loss of quality of life, and stress on the infrastructure.
We don't oppose development, we support Smart development. Multi-storied towers with 700 to 847 units times how many people and vehicles per unit will only further congest this over-burdened area.

One hundred people have signed on to fight these towers. It feels like a long climb ahead but knowing we have this group behind us makes the work feel a little less heavy.

SSF does not need this!!! We don't have the roads and infrastructure to support it. Did we just not go through a big water rationing crisis? Where will all this extra water come from, where will these cars park?
The “leadership” of our city has abrogated its charge in pursuing ever more dissonant, tacky, tasteless, and overscaled development. This while other Peninsula towns such as Redwood City and Burlingame have been flattering their architectural heritage, not destroying it.
According to SSF Spring 2018 newsletter council approved a 5 story, 172 units, retail and various parking options on the car wash lot . Five stories on that site is absurd and WHEREVER they next propose 12 stories I am adamantly opposed.
I do not support this height development in this area where even other apartment buildings are less than 4 stories. Any building should include underground parking and not rely on the fallacy of public transportation.
The traffic in and out of Safeway on Chestnut is congested as well as during commute time on Hillside Blvd is so backed up that I have to turn on Evergreen instead of Holly to get home. Traffic is a real problem and needs to be looked at and this project should not be 8 stories if approved.

This bldg can’t go on So. City is unrecognizable. I’m for progress but enough is enough. This city had lost its character & individuality. I live in Old Town it takes me 30 minutes to get to Jacks in San Bruno when I leave at 5:00pm, that’s nuts.
