This is not xenophobic. This is smart and needed. Children spread viruses quickly at school. It's not racist. If you were in China when this outbreak occurred, you should be quarantined. Eating wild bats, rats, snakes and cats is outdated and these "traditions" need to end immediately.

Law in Canada is not as strong as US so it will take forever with negative results! If you look at news, there were similar law suits in the past that came out with results after 50 years basically saying if any of those who complianed are still alive come forward to get this much money which 99% were dead! besides it's not about money! it's about dead or alive!

Come on, this isn't racist, if the outbreak was happening in England we would be making the same requests! This is common sense! It's not like 10 people from public health got on TV to present facts to the public only needing to backtrack on all of it the next day. This thing is deadly, why wait until we have a full blown outbreak before we say "oops, guess we underestimated that".

The only way governments and boards will respond is to sue them. They know nothing about this virus outbreak and put everyones lives at risk in fear of offending a certain class. I have NO issues if it was my race that was quarantined to not infect other human beings. Lawsuits to the school board, province and federal government if your child is infected. This should be no brainer. It’s absolutely not about racism, it’s about public safety. Appalled the school board would use that as an argument other schools with high Chinese populations (Richmond hill) made the decision to take these precautions because it’s the right thing to do.

Given the choice between low risk and no risk, there shouldn't be any hesitation. Whoever has travelled to an affected area needs to stay quarantined. This isn't racist, this is smart.

It was just on the news that the school board advised parents concerns are anti-Chinese and as a racism!!!! This petition is started by a person from Oriental origin and there are so many commenters and names from such origin! we are not talking about a specific race. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT A SOLUTION TO KEEP ALL PEOPLE SAFE. When any person goes to a walking clinic or hospital, health professionals categorize them by their desease and not their race or color! What parents are asking, is related to those who traveled to an infected area (in this case China). May be school board has a concern about their political believes against Ontario's premier regarding cutting jobs and provided more online studies that call this petition and concens as racism!
