I travel through this area regularly. The amount of traffic congestion at peak hours cannot support a high density building like this. They clearly believe this is good for Glenview but it's a very poor choice for the members of our community who live in the downtown area.

A development like the one proposed by Drake would be much better suited to the parcel of land formerly occupied by Scott Foresman/Pearson. It's much too large and dense for this neighborhood! I think opening up Depot St. to Glenview Rd. would create a traffic nightmare.. And since it violates at least two current village ordinances - for height and parking spaces per unit - explain why we even have ordinances, if developers can buy their way out of them? This sets a dangerous precedent for future developments. Or - perhaps our current Village Board could govern responsibly.

This is a terrible idea. That area is too congested now. This is not a good use of this land.

I do not approve of this development we have enough traffic problems on Glenview Road. I have to wait 5 minutes to get out of my driveway even now thru the pandemic what is it going to be like when people return to work and school and the trains are blocking the tracks???????? Get rid of the elected officials who don’t care about the people’s opinion who live here and pay taxes.

this smells like corruption Chicago style exactly how does Glenview benefit from this? and if Glenview is not benefiting from this I wonder who is. Most people move to Glenview for safety, space, and a small-town friendly feel. This seems like a move in the wrong direction

We are not honoring the integrity of Glenview by occupying the downtown area with yet another monstrous apartment complex. We need to beauty our downtown with open suburban spaces or community driven small businesses not overcrowd the area with apartment living.

Density will be a real problem in keeping traffic moving. Architecture will not enhance a village look.

Time for a reset...the Board clearly doesn't listen to the residents on this. What is the point of pushing an undesirable development against such serious opposition?

The building is too massive for the small site and the removal of trees is sad. The village aggressively blocks home owners to remove trees, but no problem for politically connected development projects

The Village had to have multiple sessions to accommodate the objections of Glenview residents to this folly. What a stupid idea to add more congestion to Glenview Road right at the train tracks! Does the Village always totally ignore the wishes of the residents? The Village does not need more multi family high rises in the downtown. Bring in BUSINESSES, RESTAURANTS and more family activity ideas. It is an obvious tax benefit for the Village while once again making the true downtown Glenview area UNDESIRABLE with lack of parking and congestion. Ridiculous!

We once had a nice, quaint downtown area. We once had a beautiful green space at Willow and Pfingsten. Why are developers allowed to overbuild here as well as destroy the area of Willow and Pfingsten? This does not depict the vision of our community. Dense apartment complexes and monstrous Quik Matt's will only diminish the quality of our neighborhoods. I hope our trustees will remember who they were elected to represent. This nightmare at Willow and Pfingsten is a constant reminder of how our officials and outside developers have no respect or consideration for the taxpayers. The destruction here is irreparable. Please do not allow this to happen to our downtown area. There's no going back from this huge mistske, too.

The area is already too crowded and you want to add more? We are moving from a village to a city. You just want more tax money.

Now that Bess Hardware building is gone you can see how small the site is and how it will adversely affect the adjacent homes. Make it a public space for all to enjoy and a focal point in renewing the downtown.
