I have observed the automobile traffic in this area. It is already crazy. This building is too dense for the area.

The planned density is just way too high as is a 5 story building. I thought 3 stories was the max for downtown. This should be challenged.

I'm concerned with the shortage of parking that we are going to experience. The proposed access point from Glenview Road is a hazard for both pedestrians and motorist.

We need to retain the hometown charm of Glenview by balancing restaurants, shops, residencies and purposeful green undeveloped space. I firmly believe we have overdeveloped on the residency side. I oppose this project due to its size and purpose.

On behalf of all Glenview residents, I wish to voice my concern about this large building. It will disrupt the residential areas, and there’s already plenty of inventory on the market in Glenview.

It’s time for the Village Of Glenview to work for the people of Glen View. While the Drake corp. may be from Glenview, their interests are not for Glenview. It is clear our village board is for sale. And until the residents step up, the village will continue to model the corruption of Chicago.

I object to this building! The building is entirely too big for that location.
Glenview Road is very busy, especially at rush hour with Metra trains tying up traffic. To open up Depot Street at Glenview Road is a tragedy waiting to happen. It’s very dangerous to pedestrian traffic, especially to OLPH school children walking there.

The last thing downtown Glenview needs is more living quarters. Why not add retail and restaurants? The Glen could probably use the competition. It's amazing how dead downtown Glenview is on the weekend evenings.

It seems like we already have too many vacant storefronts around town.
Glenview DT has what seems to have a perfect situation to really make the downtown nice I understand its hard to have 2 DT (the glen and the old DT) It IS HARD TO CHASE 2 RABBITS AT SAME TIME. It would be great if we could somehow make it so residents of Glenview could open shops up in Downtown and get some help from the village.
It seems most families that live in Glenview are extremely proud of the community and would like to help keep some hometown vibe, not try to be OAK Park or Chicago. I think the more Glenview resident shops the better, as a Glenview resident I would rather support a small business of a neighbor we need to cut the red tape make it easy to keep the community

It is a serious breach of fiduciary duty for any elected public official to support this project, which will have an adverse impact on the neighborhood. I will raise money in the next election to oust any elected official who supports it.

I’m concerned about the size and wonder why it seems as if the guidelines / restrictions for building structures downtown are not being followed?

I am very opposed to the development project in the former Bess Hardware property. Parking and traffic will be stressed beyond control. This development will drive business away from the former downtown area. Gridlock at the train tracks will force people away from existing businesses and parking will become even more of an issue in this neighborhood.

This project does not appear to conform with the downtown development plan. It is extremely dense. The Village has made concessions to the developer which include extending the development onto vacated public property, use of public property for developer's water detention, sale of the property to developer at a loss, inadequate parking for 72 unit development. 80 spaces permitted and should be closer to 116. Elimination of approximately 20 METRA parking spaces by narrowing Depot Street. Constriction of westbound traffic on Glenview Road due to extension of Depot street to Glenview Road. Constriction of pedestrian movement across RR tracks and crossing Genview Road by the same extension of Depot Street. Everyone should be very concerned about the favorable treatment being shown by the village to this developer. This building will be with us for a century. Is this the best work our planning commission and trustees can produce?

I oppose this new development as it will detract from the character downtown and make traffic/train congestion a lot worse!!
