It's too massive. It's wrong. A subsidized precedent setting project should be friendlier to the community and have a public benefit. This proposal is the opposite.

This is a outrage, to place this many more rentals in a residential area is wrong. Where is the money coming from? Who are the investors that will reap huge tax credits? The Trustees sold out to greed!

Glenview is beginning to look like a hodgepodge of rentals and strip malls! Is this the environment we want to portray?

Way to big. A park would actually be more aesthetic, but if a building(s) must go in, it (they) should be scaled way down with limited facing west and south only. Retail seems out of the question with so much empty retail space already available and unused for years. Townhomes would be a better option but they would also need to be affordable. Two or three story rental units perhaps, each unique in character with separate garages for each underneath with access in back with lots of trees and shrubs planted.

This development does not meet the standards for appropriateness set forth by the village. It is far too big in scale in relationship to the surrounding buildings and neighborhood. The Village board rushed this through the approval process with a split vote making the project exempt from the moratorium on downtown development while an outside consultant conducts a study for future development. It would make sense to at least hear what the consultants have to say about this extremely important site before moving forward. The board also broke protocol by taking a vote prior to receiving approvals/recommendations by all of the acting commissions that have extensively reviewed the project. As of today the Appearance Commission still has not given final approval for the Drake project. There are so many areas of concern and major repercussions for the future of our downtown that it is entirely prudent to take a pause, reassess, wait for the results of the development study and demand better use of this focal site in our Village.

I'm missing the "Village" of Glenview that I knew as a child. I'm not adverse to change but this proposed building is too large, too overwhelming for that location.
