I am a Glenview Resident and I am signing this petition to stop the development of 1850 Glenview Road. Earlier this year the Glenview Village Board conditionally approved an ultra dense apartment/retail development project for the vacant space where Bess Hardware was located at 1850 Glenview Road. We call upon the Village Board to reject this project. If they approve it then the Glenview's downtown will be permanently altered and we don't think that is a good idea. Please lend your voice to our opposition of this development.

The feedback from the board has been draining and the meetings feel endless. We need to reach one thousand signatures to force them to look at this project again.

I live in Glenview and love this community. I agree we need to do more to revitalize our downtown as well as the town center but this is not the way to do it. It is too large, will bring in too much traffic and will overburden our already stretched infrastructure.

As a Glenview resident, I support development of the downtown, but this proposed building is unsightly and far too large for the site. Its immediate proximity to train tracks and the nearby school will compromise pedestrian and motorist safety.

This proposal has the "cart in front of the horse". Downtown isn't in need of more residents, it needs more interesting retail/dining destinations that draw existing residents to it. This proposal is all problem and limited benefit to existing residents.

I’ve lived in Glenview 40 years. This project would be detrimental to our community as it’s too dense and doesn’t improve parking for everyone nor benefit the residents in our town as a whole. It’s dangerous as walkers will be at risk. I oppose it vehemently.

Agree, as a new resident on Glenview I agree that this building would add a lot more traffic from the tenants to an already busy street. Need to add infrastructure to digest current stream of people let alone adding more to it. Do not like idea at all.

As a Glenview resident, I have viewed the drawings of this potential development. It is too tall and too big for our community and will change the feel and dynamic of downtown Glenview in a way that I do not believe is positive. Please consider alternatives.

It's too massive. It's wrong. A subsidized precedent setting project should be friendlier to the community and have a public benefit. This proposal is the opposite.

But of course.
