I am trying to get the Pond at the traffic circle in McKenzie Towne stocked with Rainbow Trout. I believe that this would be a good idea because of the following reasons: 1. Families - Families who just want to take the kids fishing' would benefit greatly from this because it is in the heart of McKenzie Towne, and has easy access. 2. Easy Access - A lot of communities have private lakes/ponds around Calgary, including neighbouring Mahogany and Auburn Bay. Why doesn't New Brighton or Copperfield? There is also McKenzie Lake, but that again is private. It is accessible by walking, biking or driving. 3. Just Plain Fun - If you are looking for a place to go fishing and don't want to travel that far, then this would be great. Again a lot of communities have private lakes and ponds, and have great fishing in them. This one would as well. A lot of people would have a blast! Rookie to Experienced - This would be a great place to take a child that has never fished before and teach them, along with catching fish. Or if you are experienced and just want to practice your fly-fishing or have a fun time then you could come here. Daily Limit - Just so this place doesn't run out of fish if it does get stocked in the first couple of weeks, we would make the limit 0. Just so everybody has a good chance to catch a fish. This is why I believe that this pond would be a great home for Rainbow Trout and attract a lot of people to it!
