This is a petition against the Stephen Leacock CI and the TDSB policy of omitting families and friends from watching recreational sports in the Leacock's gymnasium.The administration at Stephen Leacock has banned alumni and families from spectating in-gym sporting events like Basketball and Volleyball games. ----------------------------- 

Here is the current policy (2011-2012). 

Spectator Admission Requirements 

Regular Season and Exhibition Games (Indoor Events) 

 Only students from the “host” or “home” school are permitted to attend. (Students from the “visiting” school may attend only if the principal of the host school agrees, and the visiting school sends staff to supervise.) 

 A Student Activity Card with photo identification is mandatory for entry as a spectator into the competition venue. 

 Parents, guardians, caregivers, and third-party adults (e.g., scouts, press, and other coaches) must obtain a TDSB Event Pass from the Physical Education Department, coach, or school administration of one of the competing schools. 

Play-off Games 

 Only students from the competing schools are permitted to attend. 

 A Student Activity Card with photo identification is mandatory for entry. 

 Parents, guardians, caregivers, and third-party adults (e.g., scouts, press, and other coaches) must obtain a TDSB Event Pass from the Physical Education Department, coach, or school administration of one of the competing schools. © 2011 Toronto District School Board - 18 - TDSSAA Coaches’ Handbook 2011–2012 

City Championships 

 Students from the competing schools (both JR and SR where applicable) will be permitted to attend. 

 A Student Activity Card with photo identification is mandatory for entry. (Tickets for the above group will be pre-sold at the school at a reduced rate.) 

 Students from non-competing schools will be allowed entry with a Student Activity Card with photo identification. (Tickets for this group will be purchased at the gate at a higher rate.) 

 Parents, guardians, immediate family, and other adults will be allowed entry. Note: Photo identification may be requested. (Tickets for this group will be purchased at the gate at the higher adult rate.) 

 No re-entry to the facility will be permitted. 

 Bags, backpacks, etc., will be subject to inspection. 

 TDSSAA Code of Conduct for spectators will be posted where possible.

My son plays basketball there and I have to go through a huge hassle just to watch him for 20 mins. Let us in!!!

So many good memories playing there. Sad that future grads can't come back to cheer on the new teams. Change this rule back.

This policy is ridiculous. How are kids supposed to feel supported if their own parents cant even get in to watch them play? Fix this.
