I'm appalled at the honorary degree being declined. This would go a long way in showing support for those suffering mental health issues. It is also the correct and moral thing to do.

Many thanks to everyone who has signed this petition. I feel genuinely Stefan deserved his degree but also I know how much this means to his parents. As a family we would be grateful if the university would reconsider their decision.
Stefan invested significantly in his degree and his contribution to the university and it would be greatly appreciated if this was reciprocated. He was a good guy and my 'favourite' nephew and whilst nothing brings me any comfort , this matter is bringing additional upset to the family. Thank you.

I think its atrocious that the university would consider anything less than an honorary degree for someone that did so much for the university

I felt honoured to be asked to sign this. Stefan was a fine, intelligent young man who had personal struggles that overcame him. It is clear to see that he made a difference whilst studying at Aberystwyth and I hope that the powers to be recognise his hard work and contributions.

This is for Stefan I never knew him or met him. But I know he touch alot of peoples lives....
