Hey people. this might actually be a good thing.. everyone complains how its valves fault because their account gets hacked or stolen. and when valve ACTUALLY tries to make things safer for people all they do is complain like with what's going on here.. honestly this could pretty much stop hackers completely. and or stop these "Phishing waves" only reason why trading is hard is pretty much because of the economy in the games themselves and what website you guys are scared of being affected will most likely be whitelisted and not affected. Valve is a lot smarter than that. stuff like this makes me sick sometimes. i mean congratz on getting to your goal. i think its rather pointless because valve would probably include more options over something like this.. as i said they aren't THAT stupid. just think before you people do something stupid.. jeesh..

This is a horrible idea. Trading will die out nearly instantly. Not everyone has a phone...

For the record, the Escrow won't ruin trading, we will just have to put up for 7 days for a crummy weapon... But who the hell can be bothered to wait?!

This idea of escrowing virtual items because a few newbie traders played it too fast and loose with their semi-valuable things is preposterous at best, and downright insane at worst.
Hundreds of thousands of active traders would cash out. The new system would totally ruin bot trades (like scrap.tf/trade.tf/backpack.tf).
I sincerely hope this is a joke, because if Valve is serious, they are obviously blind to the fact that they are essentially destroying a large source of potential income.
Not everyone can afford the smartphones required to run Steam Guard.

They already made trading difficult with the email verification and Steam Guard. Not to mention, if you disable the Steam Guard, you're account will be banned until you turn it on, and once you do, you'll have another week ban on top of it. This needs to stop, because instead of fixing the problems with scammers and hackers and such, they are breaking everything, and soon enough, people will just quit.

I think Valve will ever think twice about trading security, and the Escrow may seem to be a bad idea.

If this update goes up, it would severely hurt the current state of TF2, Dota and CSGO economy, people would lose a ton of money for such a dumb reason, plus, not everyone has a smartphone to use the mobile authentication
