A call for unity.

I am actively requesting all Americans to remind our Federal legistlature that this is the UNITED States and excluding the standing president from addressing a joint session of congress with a STATE OF THE UNION is counterproductive to our national unity, the common good of all states & territories, and the general and shared wellbeing of all our citizens.

Therefore, I am petitioning Congress to willingly and honorably invite and receive the President of the United States of America to a joint session of Congress to present our nation's State of the Union.

Let it be understood that those who actively seek to deny the President of this tradition understand that the undersigned, of all political beliefs and persuasions, condemn your actions as lacking character, unity, and character.

Should the GOP stonewall the president from presenting the State of the Union -- an insult and unpatriotic, despicable action -- I wish to create a social media petition encouraging POTUS to go live and online to deliver his message.

Regardless of your party, affiliation, or creed, the State of the Union is more than a tradition. It is an opportunity for all Americans to embrace our common connection, our heritage, our hopes and our potential as we WORK TOGETHER for a better United States.
