President Trump has coarsened public discourse and encouraged our worst impulses with his reckless words. Bullying union leaders, questioning the credentials of judges, lashing out at critics, insisting on extensive voter fraud in the election that brought him to office (in the absence of any evidence), portraying Muslims and immigrants as threatening and inherently suspect, calling the press the enemy of the American people--the list goes on and on. Quite apart from specific policy proposals, his conduct in office has been disgraceful, and an embarrassment to our country. This petition seeks to give voice to the dissatisfaction and stern disapproval of Americans of every political persuasion appalled by President Trump's antics.
