Better late than never! This has never made any sense and I went to Chesterfield County Schools.

As a Sleep Medicine specialist, I have encouraged this change for years only to see progress come to a halt each time we have a change in leadership. Evidence for later HS start time is stronger than ever, so please get it done this time!

My kids attended CCPS. I have family and friends who are still there. I see the need for this change.

I left va beach public schools with above average grades. They dropped to average after I started attending chesterfield county schools. 720am was difficult for me. I had to be at the bus stop by 640am. Please give these kids a chance. I don't want my son's to have to deal with that in the future.

How can we expect our high school students to perform at their best when they're being picked up at 5:40 AM...interesting data supporting later start time.

I attended and my kids attend Henrico County schools who use a late HS schedule. I teach Elementary school in Chesterfield at a late school- our Elementary students could use an earlier start because many of them have been at daycare for 2 hours before school starts. An earlier day start ES and a later HS start would benefit scores.

This is important and needs to take priority.

I feel teens could really benefit from starting school a bit later. Even 30-45 min would help them. Thanks for your consideration.

We urge the Chesterfield County School Board and the Board of Supervisors to act by the 2017-2018 academic year to make this important change on behalf of our students. FACT: CCPS high school students are dismissed at 1:50 p.m. under the current schedule. Many are in unsupervised situations all afternoon. Studies show that teens with more unsupervised time out of school are more likely to use marijuana, alcohol, and tobacco, and use them in greater amounts.

Do what's RIGHT for our children! Not what fits YOUR schedule!

Numerous research studies show that later high school start times benefit teenagers. This is a priority!
