We float, often times every 4 hours. We are trained to work in ICU's, Stepdown, Medical/Surgical, Emergency Department and Behavioral health environments. We have to be the jack of all trades but CAN NOT afford to NOT be the best at one. We have to be flexible and personable working with a wide array of staff and patients. Any given day our patient list includes DOZENS if not more patients. Being a member of STAR TEAM comes with it's own unique set of challenges and a workload unlike anyone else's in the hospital. We are asking to be fairly compensated. We ask that a differential pay for being a STAR TEAM PCA be established just like the nurses make their differential and other hosptials compensate their float pool team members.

I agree 150% with the statements made about STAR TEAM Aids. We are extremely flexible and very hard workers that truly do deserve better compensation. We are extremely companionate and often hit with very heavy workloads that change every 4-8 hours. It is a hard but very rewarding job. We deserve the best of the best because that is exactly what we are! Thank you!

Star Team PCAs should receive a floating differential for the versatilty they provide to the hospital.

I agree star PCAs should enjoy a differential just as Star nurses do. They are expected to do more, know more and be more flexible, and we need to provide incentive in the form of fair compensation.

STAR team PCA's are most often my biggest support system when floating throughout the hospital. They too are required to hold skills in multiple specialties throughout the hospital, sometimes being required to float every 4 hours. I believe they deserve a STAR team differential just as the nurse have. STAR team PCA's work just as hard, sometimes harder than nurses, and definatly harder than other PCA's in the hospital, and deserve fair compensation for their skills and flexibility.

I agree. We float around the whole hospital. We should be compensated more. We work so hard, and most times we get the most difficult assignments with more patients then their own staff PCAs. Also when we coin, units tend to forget that we need to use the bathroom, and also have to eat. I love being part of the Star team, I work with great people. We do deserve more

As PCA/PAA we have made our own contribution to the growth of this organization. Often times we work under unfavorable circumstances and sometimes are disrespected. Nonetheless we do our best. Additionally we should not have to exhaust ourselves with this rate of pay and so I strongly believe more can be done to improve this situation hence my decision to sign this petition.
