I'd love to see this incredible fish thriving in Texas.

Unsustainable fishing of any species should be avoided at all costs, especially one as unique as the Alligator gar.

The value of large Alligator Gar as a catch and release trophy far exceeds it's single-use value as a "shoot-and-throw away" species. The time for strict regulation of alligator gar harvest has long passed. Alligator Gar are a highly beneficial native species that provides a number of both ecological and economic benefits if it can be preserved and encouraged to proliferate. Bowfishing for alligator gar should be banned.

Hard evidence is the only thing that should be considered in terms of long-term management of Alligator Gar, and the evidence points to a pressing needs to curtail harvest!

It would be a crying shame to see these huge fish go extinct, and it’s is sickening to see them killed just for sport!

If people really want to keep fishing for alligator Gar or even just appreciate seeing them then better regulations need to be in place.

These are ancient fish that can no be sustained under current practices. We have a responsibility to ensure their survival through conservation and control of fishing practices.

This are one of the largest, most unique species of fish in the United States. Let’s protect them!

We need to save alligator gars not condemn them. Last year the last male white rhino died. Enough is enough, we dont need to kill any more animals the way things are going we will kill everything. Dont want my children to live in a planet that we distroyed.

Long live the Gar.

Alligator Gar used to live in Ohio, but they were extirpated due to reckless killing and overharvest. The Alligator Gar that are left need to protected.
