We need to sustain viable populations of native species, like the alligator gar, in order to sustain a healthy environment, which also means healthy people and a healthy economy. I wish all people knew this, everyone should understand ecology.

All for the new laws. Bow fishing really isn’t fishing in my book. More like hunting!

Really hoping this goes through. Seeing these beautiful fish along with common carp and buffalo strewn across the banks and boat ramps is absolutely disgusting . Bowfishing should be outlawed all together . If you can’t catch them in a sporting mirror sustainable way them don’t try at all . Please push this through !

I truly appreciate the gar fish and I believe that they need to be protected, catch and release for sport but there is no reason for harvesting gar. Thank you, Paul Tanner

Sick of these guys shooting native gar. They are certainly a valuable piece of the ecosystem. Wish the bowfishing crowd would realize it.

The Gar is amazing at keeping other water animals in check and are able to control other water fowl, invading species like Asian Carp. This costs the overtaxed taxpayers $0 to help control invading species. The Gar should be totally protected and a catch and release only.
