Dr. Weiss and the leadership team have worked SO HARD to make NCH the EXCELLENT hospital that it is, plus they have taking the lead on several initiatives (Blue Zones and NCH Safe & Healthy Children's Coalition of Collier County) to help with the well-being of the ENTIRE community.
In 2010 NCH recognized that accidental injuries and other health and safety issues affecting the children in Collier County require a coordinated approach, NCH took the lead along with 50 child-serving non-profit, government service and business providers to create The NCH Safe and Healthy Children’s Coalition of Collier County. The Coalition provides organizations the conduit to bring programs and services together, to face issues and identify solutions as a team.
Over the past nine years the Coalition has implemented several programs addressing defined health and injury prevention issues involving the children in Collier County. Without the unyielding commitment of NCH, the NCH Safe and Healthy Children’s Coalition of Collier County would not be where it is. Dr. Weiss is always in the Coalition events. Last Friday, for example, the coalition hosted a vigil to remember the children who have drown in Collier County and in Florida. After work hours he came to vigil and thanked everyone for the work done to prevent another tragedy to happen.

A great leader and the most present leader I have ever encountered. Regularly see him around the multiple campuses talking to employees and assessing the “pulse” and morale of the organization. I’ve been blessed to have a few wonderful conversations with him. I stand behind Dr Weiss .

It is unfortunate that the community dialogue has moved away from the core business of the hospital which is helping everyone live a longer and happier life.
