Stand Up For Small Businesses - Sign SB197

When a compromise between liquor store owners, convenience stores, brewers, distillers and grocery stores including Walmart and Target is reached in the form of SB 16-197, it is a monumental achievement in transitioning to a new era of liquor law. If only two huge out of state mega corporations are unwilling to join in the compromise, what does that say to you? They do not care about the best interests of Colorado's businesses. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THEIR OWN CORPORATE PROIFITS. They do not care about any of the issues of fairness and orderly transition that the legislature attempted to address regarding phased in sale of beer, wine and liquor in grocery stores and the sale of full strength beer in convenience stores. We in the liquor industry provide jobs and invest in our communities based on current liquor laws. Please sign SB 16-197 to help protect Colorado's small businesses and don't let two mega corporate interests destroy us overnight. This matter is far too complex to be decided by slick, single message multi million dollar advertising campaign. The risk is too great. Please sign the bill.

The small liquor retailer has had to comply with the laws for decades. This law is a fair transition to the new way of doing things. Do not leave us defenseless against a sudden onslaught of uncontrolled competition I thought t time to adjust.

As being a immigrant, I spended my every penny in liquor store, I was thinking American is a great opportunity, but now its looking it's going away, so please sign the bill and let our family survive for other few years.

Liquor should come from a LIQUOR STORE! Grocery stores should be family oriented. Not everyone wants their children exposed to adult things like wine, booze, beer and drunks! Let alone the jobs and family businesses that will be lost. Stupid!

Thanks Hickenlooper!! I hope these votes count, since it seems you no longer support small buissness. Just take away 3.2 beer. Or don't sell beer and wine in a convenient store... The name says it all "Convenient" store. Meaning kids have access to it. We don't sale Marijuana in convenient stores so why would we sale beer and wine?

Governor, I too prefer the status quo, but that aparently is not possible. My father started our store over 57 years ago. I took over upon his retirement and have spent 39 years building a small business I am proud of. I have created jobs for a lot of people that are local residents. I hate the idea of being steamrolled by big corporations under the guise of convenience. We all know it's the profit they are after. Alcohol is a controlled product that should not be treated like just another grocery item. I urge you to sign SB 16-197. It is a compromise but the ballot initiative is a one sided law that will jeopardize our local economy for the gain of a few.

We need to be really aggressive to support small business liquor store to save many people to not to go go liquors to big chain store !!!! Every liquor store owner please come together to solve this matter for all of us .
