Stand up against Liberty University: Move LC graduation from May 7th

Liberty' graduation was May 8, 2015 so there was no reason for LC to move theirs

This upsets me so much, even though I graduated this past May. I was looking forward to seeing my friends graduate and receive their diploma the day of. That is a tradition that Lynchburg has had for years! We are older than liberty and should not be pushed around. Yes they are bigger than us but we have had our graduation around this time each year! There is not surprise to that at all. None. Lynchburg college has made me upset sometimes like taking away the pavilion and Roly Poly. Now you want to take away a tradition that many students have worked so hard for! Not cool LC. Not cool.

I don't want to have school on Saturdays and April 30th is my birthday!!!!

I'm disappointed in Liberty. They should step down for once.

This is ridiculous. I hope president Garren listens to reason.

The older school should have the decision

LU needs to realize they aren't the only school in this town, and people that go there need to realize that there are a lot of things done that are actually wrong as far as finances go and strings pulled and lies told! Example....a real story: a student that was going to go there was told she could come, but because of enrollment being over 1000 of what it was supposed to be, she was going to have to find a place to live off campus, but still follow the "Liberty Way"! She was going to be a freshman, and as a freshman, you obviously have to live on campus. But LU told her, no, find your own place, follow our rules, and then on top of all that.....DON'T TELL ANYBODY what we are telling you to do!!!!!! That alone is against the "Liberty Way"!!!!! Not only is it LU's fault, it's the city of Lynchburg because they are having the Blue Angels Air Show that weekend and didn't even consider all the people in which they were going to cause problems!

I understand why they had to move it but doing so crams the end of the year for all students. There is no time to pack, decompress or enjoy LC for a few more days before we have to leave.

Just graduated from LC, disappointed in how Liberty casts it's shadow over Lynchburg. Where's the "community" and the willingness to collaborate and work together-after all, it's what we are suppose to be teaching the students.

Lynchburg College has only disappointed me since my freshman year in 2010. During my time there the school shut down the Corner Cafe, revoked permission to have parties at the pavilion, and replaced Rolly Polly, the only healthy option to eat at on campus, with Dominos. They stopped selling Redbull and started locking the classrooms past 12am, which restricted our options for study rooms and they also neglected our safety systems (yes SAFETY SYSTEMS, those who lived on College St. who have been woken up by a false alarm know what I'm talking about). They pay their president an absurd amount of money, but worst of all... they put me under a curfew my last semester all for climbing up a 6 foot ladder in Shakelford Hall. Lynchburg College sucks and I discouage all potential students from applying.

I hope this isn't true. You already moved the graduate date once before for Liberty...

I'm the first in my immediate family to receive a Bachelor's Degree. It would be nice if I actually received my degree at graduation instead of in the mail since I've worked so hard for it.

I have worked far too hard and have paid far too much money in comparison to the majority of Liberty students to be denied what every class before me has been granted.

This is a shame that we are moving our schedule around to accommodate the needs of another university. Graduating seniors should be able to receive their degrees as soon as they walk across the stage to represent ALL of the hard work they have put in for their undergraduate career. I highly suggest keeping our tradition because we are a school based on tradition.

Lets fix this LC.

I absolutely love LC. It has been my home away from home the past three years, but after everything I have done and my parents have done donating and paying for tuition, I want my diploma. I want my senior week. I want my ORIGIONAL graduation date. This is not fair to the class of 2016. Lynchburg College should not have to please another institution, especially considering that LC has been in the area MUCH longer than Liberty University. I know for a fact that I, along with many other students who have already graduated, will not be donating to the Alumni Foundation if something does not get fairly accomplished.

This is absurd I honestly can not believe this bull. If the date is not changed then I believe all senior classmen should stand together during graduation and refuse to walk up to the stage and shake President Garren's hand. Being a legacy at Lynchburg has suddenly become not so special anymore and my father (86' Grad) is not too happy about this either
