We need a better leader in our district. As a parent of IISD student I am concerned about how mesures have not been taken to remove this superintendent with all the prove being given she is not fit for this roll. We need someone that wants what’s best for our school district and gives back to our community our children.

The school district is awful you can call the main office and it will be month before they will call you back if they call you at all they have teachers handing out work to students that they have no idea how to do them self. They have students that need nurses because of low sugar and guess what no nurse and no one in the office knows what to do so parents have to leave work to check on student because they get alert about students sugar on their phone so she's done for a couple of days and guess what the school never calls to apologize for almost killing there child but call's about her missing school. What about the principal that got fired for know reason she was moving any ways have her escorted off the property like a criminal because you can why would anyone want to work for someone who would treat someone that had work hard not only for children but for a school district and her teachers and parents to be treated the way she was is a disgrace shame on the Irving city of Irving for allowing this to go on for so long the Irving school district is a big joke as far as I'm concerned about really really needs to change.

It is really a shame how poorly they treat the teachers. I have lived in Irving since 1986 and have watched this district go from great to a failure.

The superintendent selectively visits campuses for social media content. She expects administrators to prioritize escorting her, and she often takes photos with students for Twitter, portraying her day as busy and productive. The staff and students need and deserve better!!

The superintendent's visits to campus are solely for taking pictures with our students for her twitter. She gets upset if administrators don’t drop everything to escort her around. Then, she labels it a busy day and calls it quits – it's pathetic.

Her leadership and handling of finances are questionable. I witnessed several times her and Mr. Natividad meeting in a nearby parking lot to go have lunch together. Mr. Natividad doesn't even have an accountant degree. This relationship and their interactions are questionable and not professional to the public. How can we trust when both have continuously given themselves $30,000 and above raises. But yet they want to fire those who support our students directly.

Juan Carlos Martinez, the deputy superintendent, expressed at the principals' meeting that due to the underperformance of our staff, they do not deserve a raise. It's disheartening to hear our district leader imply that our educators and staff are unworthy of a raise due to performance issues, especially when leadership sets the tone. Why should leaders like him and Magda, along with other district leaders, receive raises if they're not actively contributing to improvement? It seems unfair that they benefit from their positions while doing little to support us. It's worth noting that Dr. Juan Carlos Martinez has two doctorates but he is still dumb as a rock.

The district's toxicity, which includes the school board, is a significant issue in IRVING ISD. Randy, the school board president, along with Magda Hernandez, Fernando Natividad, and Juan Carlos Martinez, are the root of this problem. Many may not fully grasp how harmful they are, but having worked closely with them, I can attest that they are detrimental to our students and staff. Therefore, it's crucial to remove them from their positions.

Ms. Magda Hernandez, the superintendent, and Juan Carlos Martinez, the deputy superintendent, were NEVER principals. Because they lack this critical leadership experience, Magda and Juan Carlos have no idea how to successfully lead principals and schools. Both were over-promoted because they were willing to lie, cheat and manipulate...skills they both excel in. They have created a climate of intimidation and fear which has destroyed what Irving ISD had before they took over…a culture of caring and teamwork.
Magda and her cabinet are destroying the Irving ISD. A quick glance at data provided by the state shows that the teacher turnover rate has increased from 17.8% in 2019-2020 to 23.8% in 2022-2023…a 6% increase during Magda’s time as superintendent. Teachers are expected to do more and more with less and less. While the workload is getting harder for teachers, the workload for district-level administrators has improved. This is because the number of district-level administrators has increased from 83 in 2019-2020 to 93 in 2022-2023. Let’s take a look at salaries. The average teacher salary only increased from $61,600 to $63,701 from 2019 to 2023, a paltry increase of $2,101. However, the average district-level administrator salary increased from $96,732 to $101,037… an increase of $4,305…more than double the increase for teachers. Even more outrageous is that Magda’s salary increased dramatically during this time, from $282,664 to $325,063…an increase of $42,400…each year! Most disturbing of all is the impact that the poor “leadership” has had on our students. While many indicators measure student success and performance, we should NOT ignore the fact that the Irving ISD continues to underperform when compared to the State and to our Region. The data speaks for itself. The graduation rate has decreased and student scores continue to drop. In fact, the District’s “All Students All Subjects” on STAAR has decreased from 73% in 2019-2020 to 67% in 20

Nepotism, how many of her family works in the district? She has them planted everywhere- being paid with our tax dollars.
She and her cabinet ruined a wonderful school; Travis by deconstructing a great school with great scores. No support whatsoever given to the campus during trying times last year, they have no idea what is going on campuses, and don’t really seem to care. Last saw her on campus December 2020. She and Martinez need to go .
She is the most unqualified person to run this large, urban district. For her it’s all about being a Hispanic woman, playing the race card. She doesn’t even live in her own school district.
The board needs to do the job they were sworn in to do or TEA needs to step in before more damage is done. She is petty and will not allow any director or principal to look better or get more press than her. Principals and Directors who work hard and are passionate get overlooked, watch out Black Administrators, she is only using you- word for the wise. #BringbackParra
Enough of the bullying by “ her Board and HR”.. yes she calls it “my Board”.
The wellness center needs to be converted to an after school recreation center for students. She wants a building, because Mr. Singley has one. She and her HR canceled the Solutions Council and removed any avenue to send feedback to the district. Promoted her nephew to principal of a high school in 5 years, over veterans with 15- 20 years experience. It’s time to retire lady.
