Pleasant Hill was made a wet town for the first time.The Village of Pleasant Hill opted to ignore state law: Public Act 093-0687: "No license shall be issued for the sale at retail of any alcoholic liquor within 100 feet of any church, school… that this prohibition shall not apply to hotels offering restaurant service….Stagecoach is 180 ft. from the band building and 379 ft. from the school proper. It is exempt from state law, both from distance and the fact the it is an eatery whose main revenue is food and lodging. The town board voted to change the law to 300 ft in order to deny the Stagecoach, the only business affected, a liquor license.
