Improved Staff Parking Conditions

Given the price paid for parking, spots should be readily and conveniently available to staff. If nearby spaces are not able to be offered, UCSD should at least be offering shuttles from lots that are further away (for example, from lots like those near Athena, to buildings like ACTRI and ECOB).

If parking spaces are not increased for B parking, UCSD should at least provide adequate shuttle service to ALL parking lots, especially when dark or raining, or significantly lower parking rates by half. We are now expected to give a lot of our free time to UCSD just to find parking.

UC San Diego had better understand that if it wants to really honor its staff, it needs to take care of them - otherwise expect high turnover rates in the future - ruining that coveted high rating. Staff need to have their parking fees slashed by at least 50% if they are expected to park far away. And I have heard that there will be 190 less B spots! What were you thinking?

Increase "B" parking and plan for the future. We need more parking structures. It seems hind site is 20/20, but UCSD needs to plan in advance.

If you are charging for parking, you need to provide parking. It's that simple.

Prices for staff parking MUST be lowered! 80 dollars for B parking that is very far away from hospital is outrageous. Compromise is needed for these changes to increase staff satisfaction.

Even though I leave early from my home to get to work on time, after parking so far away from my department I find myself clocking in 1-10 min late and getting in trouble by management for it. This is really not fair to us! All staff wants is to be able to park near our department and NOT have to circle the parking lots multiple times just to find parking! Thank you.

It is unacceptable that the University continues to build office/hospital space without providing appropriate parking for B parking holders.

we dedicate long hours to taking care of patients for THIS institution and it's a shame enough parking structures/lots are not dedicated for us. this hospital system is so concerned with patient satisfaction, what about satisfaction of those that work for the UC system? having ample parking and perhaps (and this may be a long shot), but lowering the cost of parking would go a long way with employees.

Parking is getting more and more elusive to find. It seems as though most "B" spots reserved for nurses and ancillary staff have been moved to the farthest location and we are paying to park here. It is now necessary to arrive to work even earlier than previous to ensure that we can find spots and arrive to work on time. Also ED patients have not been provided an adequate location in which to park, most paying hourly and risking being cited. This has become a mess since construction began and frankly poorly planned. I would hope that you value all employees and not just the "A" space holders.

Employees should have a direct access parking close to their working area especially if we are paying such high rates monthly. It is unacceptable that we not only have to pay to show up to take care of our patient but that we now have to walk such long distances to get there! It is unfair they continue to take away our parking and making it farther and farther away from our job site and we compromise our safety each night we have to walk to our cars. This needs to be addressed immediately. We deserve free parking!!

I think it is so ridiculous for the university to charge employees to park and you can barely find parking.

The way the hospital handles their parking is ridiculous. From tickets to parking arrangements. There needs to be a change.

Shame on UCSD not being a team player. You are making us pay more for parking but at the same time compromising our safety by making us walk further in the dark. If we have to park further away then the price should decrease for the additional aggravation of having to find a parking place.

This is ridiculous, to have to rush for limited parking for every shift and now to find out parking will be further away. Shame on UCSD, thought we worked as a team per Leading the Way!

Paying for parking is already something I do not agree on but having to arrive at least 30 minutes early to look for parking spots in unacceptable!

It is so frustrating to have to pay for parking and then not be able to find a spot.

I was already upset to have to pay $81.00 a month to have to come to work. This is the only place I know that charges you to go to work!! Then, they moved us from the West parking lot to the one below the soccer field. Then they added A parking spaces and moved us even further! Now we have to walk from Genesee, which is about 20 minutes away in the dark and cold. And they are thinking about raising the prices again!! This is unbelievable... I have to leave my house at 0545 to be at work at 0700 because I need to walk so much. This has to stop.

I have been leaving my house 1 hour prior to my shift starts so that I do not have to search for a spot. It only takes me 20 minutes to get to work so I then sit in my car for the remainder time waiting for my shift to start. Exacerbating my frustration is driving by the countless 'A' spots that seem to be multiplying by the day and are always empty!
