The parking costs and conditions are unacceptable. If we are FORCED to pay for parking, we should have a decent place to park. Most of the A parking spots in Athena go unused.

UCSD needs more better transportation and cheaper monthly parking for staff. We've been saying this for years. Come on UCSD- we can do better!

THERE ARE WAY TO MANY A SPOTS NOT BEING UTILIZED AND NOT ENOUGH B SPOT FOR STAFF FINDING A SPOT IN MORNING TAKES AN EXTRA 30MINS AND THAT IS JUST TOO MUCH

Very irritating to see all the "A" parking spaces empty on a daily basis. Even more irritating is that you see all the "A" holders parking in spots for "B" holders.

I couldn't agree more, I'm also frustrated on the way patient parking is being handled. The employee valet is insult to injury.

It's ridiculous how difficult it is just to come to work and even more so since we have to pay for parking and still get no convenient/safe parking options. Sadly, this would be a significant determinant when choosing whether to stay on in a position at UCSD.

I have worked on the main campus for 10 years now. There has been a regular pattern of development on campus where parking lots go away and new dorms/restaurants/administrative/academic buildings go in.....but it doesn't end there. You also get charge MORE for the inconvenience of parking further away, with fewer available spaces....you're welcome. The new buildings often accommodate more people, but the "afterthought parking solutions" do not. The few parking structures that have gone in are often times 1/4-1/2 a mile from where you need to go, resulting in a long walk/bike ride or taking a bus for the remainder of your journey. Surely an academic organization with the reputation of UCSD can come up with more intelligent and reasonable solutions.

I work in the ECOB and having to show up to work early just to find parking is unacceptable. We don't get paid enough to take time away from our families to come to work just to try and find a place to park so we do not have to walk almost a mile.

I work in the ECOB, with the new parking lots, my walk to my office is .79 miles. If you are going to make us park that far away, please reduce our monthly fee to park.

The lack of B parking spaces, and the excess of A spaces is unacceptable! I must arrive very early in the morning in order to obtain a space and I have encountered additional stress due to parking lot rage from fellow employees. At times I must visit more than one UCSD location in one day which is impossible with no parking. The work time lost dealing with parking issues is a loss of revenue for UCSD. If I pay $81 per month, then I should be guaranteed a parking spot near my workplace. UCSD employees deserve more respect from their employer.

I concur with the other comments. This situation is increasingly deteriorating! Those of us who have to travel to the VA or Hillcrest for our work have to take extra time just to wait for a shuttle or walk long distances to reach our cars or take the shuttle.

The shuttle is now being taken away. If we are paying $81 a month we expect proper and organized shuttle services to and from the main campus, and to and from other local areas, such as UTC. We should get free bus stickers to be able to go to UTC. The parking is taking extra time and effort out of our day, and adding these services will help a lot. If these services are not added then we should reduce parking to $40 a month.

It is very frustrating and insulting to see tons of empty "A" parking spaces when there are little-to-none "B" parking spaces upon arriving to work. It seems there is this superior and inferior complex being established at UCSD when it comes to parking, and it is getting worse on a daily basis.

I have back problems and the further away is so painful by the time that I get to my work area - as well as arriving 1.5hrs early to find that parking spot. While seeing the "A" parkers taking spots that are marked "B" and in the "A" lot over half is still empty. It is appalling the disrespect and complications of "B" employees to just arrive safely and in the "right frame of mind" for work environment to be continuously put down by our own employer (UCSD) and employees over parking spots. Most appalling parking infrastructure that I have worked at here in California

It really is insulting to see all those empty A spaces that seemingly never get used while people with B permits struggle to find parking every day. It's also unfortunate that this situation that UCSD is responsible for is causing employees to fight amongst themselves for parking spaces which creates an uncomfortable and hostile work environment which wouldn't exist if parking demands were being adequately met.

Parking it not right for us employees especially the monthly amount we pay. Not only is the parking horrible to us employees but is also horrible for patients. Many patients have been frustrated and mad about parking.
