All Nhs workers should have the right to a parking permit . Especially the workers who gave there children in the hospital nursery . No permit will make it very difficult for those poor parents especially working around the anti social shifts they have to work. It should be an employees right !

surely after the multi-storey car park is built, there should be adequate parking for staff

The whole process has been poorly managed. Nowhere on permit application for free text to expand on parking requirements. Heard of couples with same application details and one got and the other didn't. Doesn't take into consideration that buses may run but that you may be at work hours before your shift because later buses would get you in late. We are already pushed to breaking point with wages that don't match inflation and now we have to spend more on buses than the fuel needed for our cars. Our department has 9 staff and only a few got permits. If staff can't get in because of public transport issues...our department and clinic lists can't run. Then the patients suffer too.

It's an absolute disgrace that we as shift workers are denied a parking space at our place of work.

I have worked at the ARI for a year without a permit and I managed with the unsociable shifts I do. I know many people are upset about this but are you on a bus route? Can you imagine living in Northfield and expecting a permit? You are asked how far you live, if your a carer and your shifts. If you don't have a bus that takes you to ARI then you can appeal. I can take my car 60% of the time other times I get driven as parking during normal working hours is a nightmare. I work with people who have been refused and I feel for them
And they deserve a permit so your only option is appealing.

Staff should be a priority this is very stressful for staff that already use and need the permit I myself have a 2 year old which I already get up at 6am, we have one car in are household my partner is a postman so mornings consist of dropping him off first then my child at nursery and then having to find a space in the shale car park which I have a permit for txt my partner where the car is so he can collect it. pick up are child from nursery home supper and drive back to ARI to collect myself after a 12 hour shift. I have 20years service with the nhs and frankly I'm disgusted with this can only make the current staffing problem worse and what's more the ones that hold up the nhs get this cruel slap in the face for there hard work and loyalty. This is also and great reason to put great nurses and doctors from coming to work in ARI great work to the person sitting at a desk with there permit sorted making all theses ideas no clue what's going on in the wards hard enough to recruit staff another red flag if you ask me.

The questionnaire did not ask us what job we did. Surely doctors and nurses delivering patient care should have priority!!!

I work at the A.R.I. I'm a single parent with no help, I don't live close to my daughters school as we recently moved house but don't want to move her school so have to drive to her school before getting to work, also I'm my mothers carer so if anything happened would need to get to her but I wasn't given a permit but have 1 at the minute because of these circumstances. Makes no sense to me. Who was in charge of giving the permits out? Don't think they did a good job.
