Outrageous.......and dangerous due to travel time added on to 12 hour shifts. People finishing work at 7:30pm and starting again at 7:30 am do not have enough hours to rest between shifts and therefore are not as alert or efficient as they should be.

There are no possible buses for me to get so I have to use up parking spaces in streets nearby. Locals don't like this and I have also had my car scratched intentionally.

Staff are working long and unsociable hours, for sake of convenience and safety the hospital should guarantee that all staff are entitled to parking on hospital grounds.

Find it absolutely bizzare that staff have to pay to park at their place of work. Im sure after the stresses and difficult things that staff see on a daily basis in the hospital, the last thing they want to see after a long shift is a parking fine!

Any employee who works unsociable hours should automatically receive a parking permit. Look after the staff the way Richard Branson does and you will be on a winner. Take care of those who will take care of you. Every doc, nurse, Auxilliary , student, physio, ot, c,m, consultant and those I fail to mention, you do your best and I salute you. RESPECT .

Totally agree we should all be aloud to park there! I don't understand why a multi storey car park hasn't been built yet?!? If the people I. Charge of this had sense it would be done!!!!!

Without a doubt! The hospital can't run without staff and 12.5 hour shifts are long enough without buses and walks when we choose to run a car. Let alone in the event you are sick or someone you know and you need to leave to go home.

My wife is in this position, however I have to disagree with this part "are not allowed a permit because they are in close proximity to ARI"... my wife has to travel more than 22 miles a day meaning at least 2-3 hours of her "day" is spent travelling. She applied for a parking permit because I have physical limitation and often need her support getting dinner on/ready and getting my daughter to bed. Not to mention what would happen in an emergency considering she would need to take 2 buses that (if running on time and there being no hold ups with traffic etc) would take her at least 70 minutes to get home (assuming she is able to get straight on a bus and doesn't need to wait).
The bottom line is hospitals and their patients need the NHS staff... support the staff that need parking permits instead of penalizing them and their families.

All Nurses/Doctors who work unsociable hours and long shifts should get permits. This system is an utter joke! We can not up and leave our work according to bus schedules.

On one hand we are desperately trying to recruit staff and on the other we are making it as difficult as possible for them to actually attend their work. I've know of nurses who live in the same town out with Aberdeen, both with infant children, both working 12hr shifts and one got a permit whilst the other didn't. Also of staff that only work day shift during the week 6-7 times a year who have a permit yet others who are full time do not. Clearly parking is a huge issue but staff who are regularly on duty for longer than 10hrs a day should automatically be entitled to park at their place of work.

I have worked at Sick Kids for nearly 10 years and until now I have always had a permit. Having recently moved to Sunnybank I am apparently no longer entitled to a permit even though I have 2 kids to take to hazelhead academy before I start my shift. I also have fibromyalgia which limits me sometimes on walking long distances especially in cold weather. The application allowed for none of this Information to be noted.
