In this case the statistics simply don't back up keeping kids out of school.
Infectious disease physicians at Washington University have stated that kids are rarely the index case for a household and that asymptomatic transmission from a child has NOT been reported.
Additionally the American Academy of Pediatrics has strongly advocated that all policy considerations for the coming school year should start with a goal of having students physically present in school.
Finally, per the CDC children under the age of 14 have less risk of serious complication from COVID 19 then they do the seasonal flu.
I'm hopeful our district leaders can focus on the factual statistics and get our children back in school as soon as possible.

Get the teachers back to work. Are they, our are they not essential workers? If not replace them with educators who care about children.

The damage this is causing is 10x more negative that the health threats (minimal) Covid causes in healthy young people. Medically compromised and unhealthy teachers and children should stay home and protect themselves and their families. Not the other 85% that the virus has little or no ill effect on.

Please get these kids back in school. They need the social interaction, for their mental well being.

Our children are suffering emotionally and mentally from virtual learning. We the PEOPLE demand our children go back to school in person. I've spent $3000 on therapy for my children since March. If you are for the mental well-being of our children and care about their education, then send them back to school. The CDC just posted the actual case update along with the false positive tests that were based on 37 to 40 vs. a 30 virus level which made these tests 40 to 90 percent innacurate depending on the individual state guidelines. Protect the vunerable and allow our children to be taught in person.

Students are struggling mentally, emotionally, and academically because schools have been shut down. I've seen the negative impact in my piano students' attitudes and behavior since the lockdown. Everything that was fun about school has been eliminated. There are no activities, clubs, or sports. All that's left is the part most kids hate: homework.

I am a full time student myself and can’t assist my child with his education, I am worried about him being stuck near with the computer almost the whole day. I don’t know how our kids are handling this challenge, they have to go back to school, communicate with their teachers and friends in person.

Please get these kids back in school. The amount of stress and anxiety this is causing families is insurmountable.
