The proposal is too large and the increased traffic will overwhelm the neighborhood. It should be reduced in side and access should be from Reston Parkway.

A development this size does not belong in this neighborhood.

This is a terrible idea and does not support the surrounding neighborhood. The Northpoint village center is thriving, with more stores planned, so no add'l density is "necessary". It is not fair to the residents who paid a premium to be located in one of Reston's last remaining paved over areas.

The community is too dense to be supported by the surrounding infrastructure and shops. Please be sensible and considerate of those immediately impacted by the proposed change.

I agree with all of the previous comments. In addition, I was a renter at St. John's Wood for five years before moving down the street. They just went through a major renovation project of the apartments approximately five years ago; when I rented there they were already at nominal capacity. This clearly is not for the benefit of the residents of Reston. And finally, I have quoted from the Wikipedia article below, this area is special by intentional design. This is a very disruptive idea which will only detract from our internationally known community. What's next, building a shopping center on the national mall? Add another arm to the statue of Liberty to hold an advertising brochure. And finally, let's not kid ourselves, this sets a precedent to change the character of the entire area. We already have had an insane supreme court ruling on eminent domain being imposed for economic growth. Let's not ruin this place. From Wikipedia: An internationally known planned community founded in 1964, it was built with the goal of revolutionizing post–World War II concepts of land use and residential/corporate development in suburban America.... In 2012, Reston was ranked 7th in the Best Place to Live in America by CNNMoney Magazine.[6]

All of Reston will be affected - traffic on Wiehle and Reston Parkway is already a nightmare in peak hours. What about schools and parking infrastructure. Are we deliberately trying to destroy everything that makes Reston special. And, can the Supervisory Board confirm that approvals were granted only after they diligently considered the impact of such a high density development in a tranquil environment.

Too high density for this neighborhood

We live near St. Johns Woods. This redevelopment is terrible. It defeats the purpose of living in Reston.

I strongly oppose this construction. The increased population density is insufficiently planned for and the resulting traffic and parking problems will impact the surrounding area. I also want to know why there was so little publicity in advance of development hearing.

Such a massive increase in density simply should not be allowed in a quiet suburban neighborhood that was not designed to handle that many people. This sets a dangerous precedent that will turn Reston into Arlington, something that the Reston residents have rejected by living in Reston and not Arlington.

Does Aldrin Elementary have capacity for all the children that presumably will be feeding in from the increased number of families living there? Some of the higher grades already are at/ close to capacity.

This is further whiddling away at what Reston is meant to be. As a 20+ year homeowner across Center Harbor Rd from St John's Wood, I have grave concerns about the degradation to the quality of life this redevelopment will bring to the quietness of Noth Reston. Trees will be destroyed, traffic increased, and the effects of greater population density will ripple through an infrastructure of schools, roads, and shopping not designed for it. So many changes were already made during initial construction of other developments, to now go back all these years later for the sake of the dollar is degrading to the Reston ethos. The developer has their larger N.R. development tucked farther away from Reston Parkway, and now wants to infringe upon the parkway itself with what one can only think is a plan to extend Town Center farther north. Those of us who are neighbors are concerned about things other than an increased tax base and what's considered acceptable in other parts of Fairfax County. I believe the vast majority of us do not want to see the current plan proceed without considerable modification and scale back.

"Live, Work, Play" REALLY?!?!? Hmmm.... The Reston Motto appears to have changed to: Residents now have to "LIVE" with the Bozzuto Plans, while Bozzuto continues to "WORK" the system of Fairfax County, and keeps on to "PLAY" Reston Association to reach their final outcome. It seems that after Bob Simon passed away, the motto should now be, "Live, Work, Play, and Take Advantage of All the Reston Residents-- No Matter How Much Money They Have Invested in their Properties."

Thank you Ms Hudgins for allowing more housing for low income and wealthy. Where do us middle class citizens go?

I'm in favor of progress and development, however for a development of this size, there needs to be an entry/exit off Reston Parkway, not Center Harbor, to accommodate the increase in occupants and vehicles. The design also needs to be scaled to match the current and future planned development for the area. Inserting this design without the proper scale into the neighborhood will impact it negatively.

About to buy in this location,no mention by realtors. This development is outside what drew us to this area. Not one neighbor is aware of this plan. Please delay any further action to be fair to all residents concerned and are affected by the plan.
