Please keep North Reston residential. We moved here because the trees are the skyline. Let's keep it that way.

RestonNow reported that community residents voiced these concerns:
- The plan looked like “Inova Fairfax Hospital,” or a “VCU college dorm”
- “The redevelopment is too much for a quiet, suburban-style residential neighborhood"
- “This is way too large”
- "It is twice what is there now. Doubling it? That's insane.”
According to RestonNow, here is Cathy Hudgins response:
“Basically, it has been underdeveloped,” Hudgins told the crowd. “The only place you will see density [growth] is near the village centers.”
So this may only be the beginning if she views our area as "underdeveloped".

I am very concerned about the impact of such a large development on traffic in this area.

I have just commented on the redevelopment of St. John's Wood. For some reason the site lists me as from Duluth. In reality, I live in Devonshire Cluster which abuts St. John's Wood

The current plans for redevelopment of St. John's Wood concern me due to the higher occupancy rate planned, the greater number of buildings in the plan and the increased traffic all of those issues would create. The proposed redevelopment will have serious impact on the quality of life of all residents in surrounding neighborhoods.

I oppose this new development, as it will cause more destruction of nature, more congestion in an already congested area, and will not improve the quality of life in this area.

Please come to the RA Board meeting on Wednesday, September 14 at 6:30 and bring some folks with you. We need a big turn out. The only thing they care about is opposition from the voters and tax payers. And this project is bad PR for them. RSVP [email protected]. We need to get people involved in this fight and lots f them.

We are having our first meeting on Tuesday, Aug 16 at Panera in Reston Town Center. Let me know what you can do to help all of you. [email protected]

There will be an important RA Board meeting on September 14, 2016 at 6:30 PM . The st Johns Woosd project will be on the agenda and the full RA board will be asked to vote on it. We need a huge turnout. The only thing that matters to them is the concern of the community -- the voters and tax payers. Please RSVP me at [email protected] and bring a neighbor with you.. I am the community organizer for this project to stop the redevelopment of St. Johns Woods, at the very least in its current massive form that will destroy our community.

To whom it may concern :
Just what we need in Reston/Norther VA, more cars, congestion, traffic, people etc. Please reconsider this proposed redevelopment. We do not have the infrastructure to support this development. This will add more stress to an already over loaded area. Not a good idea !

As many others in the Reston community, I want to stop the plan altogether. One of the reasons my family and I decided to move to Reston 3 year ago was because we love all the green colors all around Reston. I commute to work every day driving on Reston parkway from North Point Village to Rt. 7 and the scenery is green and beautiful. I don't want to see new buildings poking out from the trees when I drive by every day. In brief, I want trees and the scenery protected..

I am a current resident of St. Johns Wood. I moved back to this location from the Midwest based on the reputation of Reston and the control it maintained from sprawl. I have a one bedroom apartment which is fine for myself. My rent is approximately 2/3 of what it would be for a townhouse. The new planned expansion can be for no other reason than squeezing more revenue out of the density it was originally designed for. When I moved in, I was not advised that there was future action was pending which now makes my situation precarious to time.

Development in Reston has become out of control. Everyone knows that. It seems that some of those who are making decisions at the Fairfax County and Reston DRB level see Reston and particularly the north side as nothing more than a cash cow and they, along with Reston Association and the DRB appear to have no regard for maintaining the design of the surrounding area, clusters, quality of life, nor the character of the neighborhood and that of North Point as a whole.
What could people involved in approving this plan possibly be thinking?
Approval of the plan demonstrates a complete lack of regard for those who live here and will be affected, as well as for the parking and traffic nightmares this will create. This will literally destroy the beauty and appeal of this area. Another major concern that I certainly hope all involved take seriously is the fact that there is an elementary school there and traffic and congestion problems already pose a serious danger to the children who attend this school. The plan will make that situation exponentially worse.
The proposal is based on nothing more than greed.
I strongly encourage Ms. Hudgins, the Reston Planning and Zoning Committee, the Fairfax County Department of Planning and Zoning, and the Reston Association and their DRB to listen to the people they are supposed to represent and to ensure that the plan that was approved is reassessed. Those who live here and are affected have a right to be heard and their positions must be taken into account.

The infrastructure to handle this is simply not possible in this location, regardless of any minor adjustments the developer makes (including the entry/exit points.) And EQUALLY important, the amount of tall or sprawling development in Reston -- especially north Reston -- is completely ruining the quality of life and beauty of Reston. If you truly are representing our interests, you'd be fighting these development plans tooth and nail Your support leads me to conclude that you aren't interested in the quality of life of the residents and are acquiescing in Fairfax County's use of our area for income. How long we should let you represent us remains to be scene but a grassroots movement is mounting to unseat you. I don't mean that as a threat. I actually would like to be able to vote for you. But how can I support you, when you don't support the residents. Please come out fighting against this. There are plenty of people who've lived here for years (in houses, townhouses, condos and apartments) and we would support an effort to say enough! Please, I beg you.

There is plenty of dense housing options in all directions - the Reston Town Center, Dulles Town Center, Tysons, etc. Lets keep North Reston as it is today - a nice woodsy, quiet enclave in a very busy, overly-developed Northern Virginia...

This "redevelopment" can only be about one thing--money. Shame on Bozzuto and RA for being greedy! I recently moved to North Reston to escape the congested, concrete urban jungle that is taking over Fairfax only to find the same thing happening here.

I strongly oppose this development because of the impact it will have on traffic at the proposed new egress point on Center Harbor.
