To update or a redesign the St. Johns Woods area is a project that I am in favor of; however, doubling the amount of units will certainly create many additional problems - traffic and strain on Buzz Aldrin. This is truly a redevelopment project that does not need to happen on such a drastic scale. There are certainly areas in Reston that would benefit from redevelopment (i.e. Tall Oaks), rather than North Point area.

This new development is not close to Metro, or any employment center. High-density projects like this are only appropriate when they are (much) closer to transit. There are many older complexes in Reston that are MUCH closer to Metro...why not re-develop one of those? The answer is simple...corporate greed. They can't raise rents high enough and fast enough, so they want to demolish the community and charge double today's rent.

Not a good location - will impact school traffic and parking as well as current residents.

This area is already developed enough as it is. This would only cause more congestion.

What roads are these people going to use? We do not have the infrastructure to support this much density.

No new building in Reston! We have a great community! It will take away what makes Reston the best!

This section of North Reston is special to the residents of Reston because unlike RTC, it is more wooded and has a more neighborhood like feeling. Please do not expand RTC this far north.

This project will seriously impact the surrounding area in terms of traffic, density of population, quality of life and overcrowding the local schools.

This development goes against the very spirit and character of Reston. We have lived here almost twenty years and welcome new neighbors, but they always want to share in what Reston is about - not tear it down. This project brings development without looking to integrate it into the overall community. What a shame Reston is being sold to developers without a conscience.

high-density housing should be at Reston Town Center and along Sunset Hills Road to Reston East, not among town houses and single family homes.

This is insane and would ruin the community feel if Reston and North Point. Don't allow them to do it. There are Bozzuto complexes right down the street from St Johns that have a lot of vacancies. Why do we need more apartments?

This development goes against everything that makes living in North Reston so wonderful. Low traffic, trees, and no high rises are all reasons I chose to live in this area.

This is a bad idea, too many rental properties will hurt the sense of community that makes Reston great. At the very least some should required as units that can be sold. Also the community should be required to pay the RA fees because it keeps going up and the members of the community WILL be using our trail basketball courts parks and playgrounds!

As a resident of North Point, I am concerned about the additional traffic that this development will generate. I use the walking paths near the neighborhood and it is already very dangerous for pedestrians with drivers regularly blowing through red lights to make right turns. Please consider the impact on the community--not just the additional tax revenue.

Reston was designed as a planned community. It seems that developers are having their way with those responsible for Reston planning. Why increase density, parking, congestion in an area that is already developed and meets the needs of the community?

I am very surprised that a project this large has gotten preliminary approval to go ahead. The traffic, congestion, ugly visibility et al surrounding this planned project should be evident enough to stop it.

I would be ok with the development if it were scaled down.

Add my name to the petition - I am against the redevelopment proposal of St Johns Woods Community in North Reston - it is too large and will create too much traffic for Center Harbor & North Village! Please do not double the amount of rental units!!!!
