St. John’s High School Homecoming Parade

Why stop what works and brings the community together....it's tradition...leave it alone.....

The St. Johns High Homecoming parade has been a long standing island tradition that the Wadmalaw and Johns Island residents look forward to every year. It would be a shame to throw away the one thing that this community looks forward to to please a few people who may be inconvenienced for an hour once a year.

Keep the parade it's already short.

I don't think that the city or county should stop the parade just because of more traffic on the island because of overdevelopment I think this tradition should live on with the Islanders so you've got my vote I'll do whatever needs to be done to make this happen

Wow! why should this even be debatable?

Whether or not we have children attending St Johns High School, if we are a part of the community or have roots on Johns Island we should support this. It is called ISLAND PRIDE! For those who chose to relocate to this area... show some ISLAND PRIDE! Being inconvenienced for an hour or less won’t cause anything detrimental. Traffic is a problem everywhere!.... We’ll survive !!

This has been a tradition on John's Island for many years! If traffic is the issue, and the route is mostly in the city limits now, lets discuss the parads that shut down DT traffic!!

The parade has been a tradition for homecoming since I had moved in 1998. Kids be looking forward to the parade.

I support keeping the St. John’s High School Homecoming Parade as a tradition that has long served the Wadmalaw and Johns Island Community.

I went to several parades when I was younger at St. JOHN'S. The people that just moved there are bothered by it bcse of the traffic woes but this is something that has been a party of the community. It also allows to students and staff to celebrate and honor their school!! Keep the parade. Make short, sweet and AWESOME!! AN HOUR OF TRAFFIC REDIRECTING

I am an alumni and would love to see the parades in the upcoming years bigger and better.

With growth the Island is loosing so much

Kids need traditions so they know their roots!! Please find a way to honor this tradition!!

I am an Alumni and so is my husband, my daughter, my mother, dad, Aunts, Uncles, my entire family on both sides. It would deeply sadden us to have this happen. I am an Islander and my pride is strong.

Its sad that tradition has to be dissolved for money. Lets protect our children! For an hour once a year, respect the island that you're developing. what good is the island if the people and their traditions are lost.
