We have experienced significant cuts for three years in a row. The result of those cuts has now become evident in the running of the school. This school is too large to expect one Principal to handle all administrative and disciplinary duties that are required.

Please note we are very distressed about the proposed cuts to St. Johns School staffing. The students and teachers need these positions to maintain the balance currently in place that provide for a positive learning and work place environment . We strongly request you reconsider these cuts. It is reckless and unfair to short change the school and the community.

The decision to remove special needs care should be reevaluated. There are many children's lives and future that will be impacted by this decision. There must be alternative ways to cut operating costs or raise additional funds. These children need the help more than any others.

Taking away valuable positions like EAs and VP in our Catholic Elementary School system does not align with Well-Being Strategy that the Ontario Education System is trying to promote. Denying the children with these support systems will compromise the their education and not to mention the children's safety. These positions are added support that the kids need because they attend to certain duties that they have been specifically certified or trained to do. Is cutting back to save some dollars worth compromising the education and safety of our children?
