Our kids deserve the experience of a school canteen - there must be another option outside of complete closure!

How can this happen is there any consideration for these poor students particularly in the hot weather? Surely some temporary arrangements can be organised. Feel very sad that it comes to the detriment of the students

The canteen/tuck shop at St Francis is an institution. Yvonne goes above and beyond what is required of any employee - she seeks out bargains to save money, she shops in her own time and she cooks fabulous, healthy food for all of the St Francis kids and staff (including Rick) and Joanna supports her with this. Every kid deserves a tuckshop like St Francis. It would be an injustice to shut the canteen and to retrench two outstanding and giving employees. This was one of the best things about St Francis... now the kids could have Subway or worse.. and the parents lose out too. Shame on this decision - we hope they see sense and reverse it,

Can we Uber eats them food if we forget! Or do they go hungry! Busy working families need support and having a canteen service offers peace of mind when we are time poor.

How can a primary school not have a tuck shop? We all have such fond memories from tuck shop when we were kids. Don’t deny our children these memories.

Lack of consultation with the school community is concerning. Tuckshop is needed and a part of what makes the school attractive.

Sad to think that there isn’t an alternative to losing the canteen

Crazy idea and takes a very valuable teaching aid to our children where else can they safely go to a shop by themselves and learn about buying and handling money.

I would prefer some option(s) for canteen instead of nothing at all, or can OSHC be used or other existing room?

Extremely poor - no consultation was given to parents or students

Our family is not at all happy with the decision that has been made to close the canteen without any notification given to parents. My daughter who will be still attending the school in 2018 was very upset about not being able to have an ice cream on a hot day.

It is really disappointing that such a large decision was made without any consultation yet it effects all of us.

Not happy there was no consultation with parents. Surely there are other options instead of a blanket no canteen in the school. It's a selling point of any school, just ask the new parents. I wonder if they would have chosen St Francis if they knew the school was clising down the canteen.

Surprising and very disappointing decision. Concepts of healthy food choices and the value of money are life skills. Is it an issue of space or profitability? Once it's gone, I just can't see it coming back. Library next?!?
